    Mayor’s Annual Neighborhood Awards
  • Submitted projects and efforts must have occurred between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023. Physical projects and activities started prior to Jan. 1, 2023 are not eligible. Winners from the 2023 awards are not eligible for the same category for the 2024 awards program nominations. 

    Visual presentation of the nominees will be presented at the Mayor’s Annual Neighborhood Awards Social.  Applications must submit their nominations visually (pictures, video or otherwise).

    Entries must be received by Friday, January 12, 2024 at 5 p.m. to be considered.

  • 2024 Mayor's Neighborhood Award Categories

    Association President of the Year
    Any person (no self-nominations, please) or organization can nominate an association president for outstanding leadership during the year of COVID-19. Nominee must have served in 2021 or be currently in office.

    Neighborhood of the Year
    Any person or organization can nominate an association and provide visuals as to why it should be considered the best of the year.  Visuals to include information sharing, community engagement, neighborhood health, activities, and meetings with health safety measures in place are encouraged. 

    Neighborhood of Compassion
    Celebrates a neighborhood that makes residents feel connected. Given the isolation and safety measures of the last year, that reached out to connect with needy and vulnerable residents.

    Neighbor with Heart
    Recognition for a non-leader in the association (no self-nominations, please) who went above and beyond.

    Neighborhood Communications
    Acknowledges excellence in communicating news about neighborhood events and issues, as well as developing interest and involvement in neighborhoods.  Outlets to consider will include neighborhood newsletters, neighborhood websites, social media presence (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Nextdoor), and other means of communication.

    Neighborhood Civic Engagement
    Recognizes creative civic engagement initiative by a neighborhood or to engage residents, to promote working, healthy playing, or celebrating together in a responsible and safe way. 

    Community Collaborations
    Honors significant partnership or alliance to address the needs of the community to include but not limited to assisting others, engaging fellow neighbors, while working with their city, elected officials and/or other key stakeholders (non-profits, schools, businesses, other neighborhood organizations)
