• Northside Leadership Conference 2023 Scholarship Program

  • Purpose: To recognize and award high school seniors who volunteer their time to improve the Northside community.
    Eligibility: Any Northside resident in the 12th grade that performs volunteer service in their community and will be attending a college or training program after high school.
    Award: $1,000 scholarships. Candidates will be recruited through neighborhood groups and high schools, both private and public. The individual must reside on the Northside, but they are not required to attend a Northside high school.
    Awardees: The NSLC Dinner Committee, which is made up of representatives of the neighborhoods and participating sponsors, will select the awardees. The number of scholarships will be determined by sponsorship commitments.

    *Awardees or a parent must attend the NSLC Annual Dinner event and receive your scholarship in person.*

  • Essay - 500 words or less describing your volunteer activities and future educational plans. *Please note that spelling, grammar, and overall volunteerism will be taken into account. Your name, race, and gender should not appear on your essay.

  • Letters of Reference - Two letters of reference are required. Your school principal, guidance counselor, or teacher should submit one. The second should be from someone who is not a family member but is familiar with your volunteer activities.
