18th Annual Coeur d'Alene St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Coeur d'Alene!

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS 
The Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association (DTA) is pleased to present the 18th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The 2023 parade theme is "Shamrocks & Shenanigans". Please plan your parade entry around the theme! 
Use your creativity to dress up your group, decorate your vehicle or float and express your joy for all things Irish! Applications to participate in the 2023 St. Patrick's Day Parade will be accepted through March 12. Interested participants should complete the online registration. Entries will be considered for inclusion and notified via email no later than March 13. Payment for entry must be submitted at the time of application to be considered. If entry is not accepted, payment will be refunded in full.  
 
PARADE STAGING & ROUTE 
Staging will be arranged in blocks east of 8th Street on Sherman Ave and will begin at 2:00 pm. At 2:30 pm the entire parade route will be closed to through traffic, and ‘No Parking’ will be enforced on the route after this. The parade will begin at the intersection of 8th street and Sherman Avenue and continue west on Sherman Avenue ending at the intersections of Lakeside Avenue and Government Way, just before Northwest Boulevard.  

LINE - UP 
WHEN: All participants must arrive by their assigned line-up time (between 2:00 pm - 2:40 pm). The parade will begin at 3:00 pm. 
WHERE: Beginning at the intersection of 8th St and Sherman Avenue. Each group's line-up position is determined by parade officials. Line-up positions will be emailed to participants before the parade but are subject to change.
 
APPLICATIONS 
Due to the limited number of entries allowed, not all applications will be accepted.
You will be notified of the number assigned to your entry after applications close. The DTA reserves the right to position entries in the parade at our discretion or to deny participation if the parade entry guidelines are not met.  
The appropriate parade fee must accompany all entries at the time of application: 

Marine, Police, Fire, etc.: $0  
Entries include organizations directly related to and acknowledged by the U.S. Pentagon. This consists of any branch of the military, government, etc.
Non-profit and non-commercial: $35 
Entries include public service organizations, churches, and groups that support or promote certain hobbies, activities, and events such as Boy/Girl Scouts, Local theatre groups, and all non-profit organizations.
Commercial: $45
This category applies to a vehicle(s) or floats promoting any business, product, or enterprise. Examples; include coffee stands, and towing companies. 

THE FOLLOWING RULES and REGULATIONS APPLY TO EACH ENTRY:

1. The deadline for entry is Sunday, March 12, 2022. All entries will be placed at the sole discretion of the parade committee. 
2. Registration is required for parade participation, each participant will be assigned a location in the parade by the event organizer the week leading up to the parade.
3. No smoking is permitted on or near any parade entry. No intoxicant usage will be allowed by any parade participant. No open containers are permitted.
4. Candy and other items may NOT be thrown from vehicles or floats or handed out in any way along the parade route.
5. Immediate clean-up of the parade route MUST BE PROVIDED FOR ANY ANIMAL ENTRIES. Each non-ridden horse must have a handler at his head. (Or for the lead horses of a team.)
6. Parade participants will be emailed a staging map with pre-parade arrival instructions. Float arrival times will be assigned between 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm. All floats and parade entrants must be in place in the staging area by 2:45 pm. The Staging Area will be located between 8th & 11th on Sherman Ave. We encourage all entries to have banners and good float identification. All participants must take the position assigned to them and stay in that position until the official termination of the parade while maintaining a proper distance between entries.
7. Due to the limited number of entries allowed, we may not be able to accept all applications. You will be notified of the number assigned to your entry after entries close.
8. All entries must be accompanied by the appropriate parade fee: $30 for Non-commercial, and $40 for Commercial Entries. 
9. The registration fees are non-refundable. The event is a sun, rain, or snow event only to be canceled for weather temperatures deemed hazardous by weather advisory or if there are pertinent public health or safety directions from State/County officials. Registration fees will not be refunded in the case of hazardous weather or public health or safety cancellations. Your fee is a tax-deductible donation and we will gladly supply you with a receipt at your request.
10. The parade theme is "Shamrocks & Shenanigans". All parade entries are required to decorate in theme for the holiday. Avoid any plain vehicle, trailers, or walkers with no decoration or themed dress from being part of your parade entry. This ensures you are doing your part to make this a fun and memorable parade for our community. 

Indemnity Agreement

In consideration of the acceptance of this application, the applicant agrees to comply with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association, the City of Coeur d’Alene, and the Kootenai County from any loss or damage to person or property arising out of participation in the 2022 Downtown Coeur d'Alene's St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
