We are excited to offer a Counselor-In-Training (CIT)/Counselor program as part of our Summer Programs 2025 lineup. This program is open to rising 9th-12th grade students as well as college graduates. This Summer, we will offer multiple training sessions to accommodate new and returning CITs/Counselors who wish to advance their training and skills!
Summer Schedule
Mandatory Counselor Orientation & Training: June 9th from 3-6pm!
Week 1: June 16 - June 20 (No S@C on Thursday, June 19th)
*S@C is Closed the Week of July 4th!*
Week 2: June 23 - June 27
Week 3: July 7 - July 11
Week 4: July 14 - July 18
Week 5: July 21 - July 25
Week 6: July 28 - August 1
Week 7: August 4 - August 8
Early Drop Off (option): Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-9:00AM
Summer@Clark Day Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9AM-3:00PM
Extended Day Program (option): Monday-Friday, 3:00PM-4:00PM
**CITs must be present for at least two consecutive weeks of S@C.**
Why become a Counselor-In-Training/Counselor?

*Each level of Counselor will receive scenario based training and mentorship through the Director and Lead Counselors.
Counselor - In - Training (CIT)
Must have graduated 8th Grade before the start of S@C
Must have experience with any summer camp/program environment
Must be willing to engage with all participants in the program experience & assist with camp staff who lead activities
Must foster a sense of team spirit and fun
Must be a good role model to other participants
Will be carefully guided and mentored by Summer@Clark Program staff
We will carefully review all applications, but preference will be given to Summer@Clark alumni and Clark School 8th Grade graduates. The cost for the CIT position is $325/week.
Junior Counselor
Must have successfully completed at least two consecutive weeks as a CIT at Summer@Clark
Must have shown strong leadership potential as a CIT, and be able to demonstrate these skills throughout chosen sessions
Will be expected to plan and execute at least four small group activities and two all-group activities per session
Will be given constant feedback, to ensure growth in skills and abilities
There is no cost or pay for the Junior Counselor position; however, you will be able to earn Community Service hours. Students who have participated in the Senior CIT program at S@C are welcome to apply again.
Senior Counselor
Must have completed 2 previous Summer programs as a Junior CIT, CIT and/or General Counselor.
Will be expected to help manage craft and block activities.
Must be vigilant with children interactions and report issues to Lead Counselor or Director for resolution.
Must show exemplary leadership skills and be willing to take on challenges
This is a paid (hourly) position through Clark School
Lead Counselor
Must have graduated from high school and have completed at least 2 years of Summer programming as a Counselor/Senior Counselor
May be tasked with operating summer program vehicles for transportation to and from activities
Stays in constant communication with Director and will alert on any changes or issues that may arise.
Helps to manage attendance and rosters each day
Tasked with providing mentorship to lower tier CITs/Counselors
This is a paid (hourly) position through Clark School

Space in all positions are limited. Applications received by the deadline will be given priority. You will be notified of our decision as quickly as possible.
Interested applicants must also submit three letters of reference. When you submit this application, you will receive an email link that you can forward to three people of your choice to complete the reference forms. Work-related references are good, as are teachers, coaches or previous Camp/Program Directors. One relative, household member or close personal reference must be included. Your references should complete the reference form as soon as possible. The Director of the CIT/Counselor program will call your references to confirm the forms have been received. Once we receive your application and confirm all two references, we will contact you for a formal interview.
We expect all CIT/Counselor applicants to complete this application process on their own. We request that as the applicant you, rather than your parents/guardians, contact us on your own.
