During the course of your child’s time in the Prep School, they may, for various reasons, take part in off-site trips. These trips can include short local visits on foot, or further afield travelling by coach. This may happen several times during the school year eg. visits to Lingfield village, choir trips for carol singing, sporting fixtures, etc.
The following permission slip will be held by us whilst your child is in the Prep School and be used to cover any such trip. If your child is leaving the school premises for any reason, you will be informed via email, but you will not be asked to fill in a permission slip for visits again. When the children leave the School premises for any reason, a Risk Assessment is always completed by the staff leading the trip and relevant safety requirements are put in place.
Separate written consent will not be requested for the majority of off-site activities. These include sports fixtures and trips which are part of, or related to, the School curriculum and other enrichment activities. The School will notify you separately of School events your child might be involved in, but parents are encouraged to be proactive and check SOCS (the sports fixture app) and the website.
This consent will remain valid throughout your child’s time at Lingfield Prep School. If you wish to withdraw your consent to your child taking part in an off-site activity, please inform the School in writing before the activity takes place. We would remind you that it is the School’s policy that if your child is selected for a School match, it is expected that he or she will participate. In these circumstances, there are special conditions around requesting permission to be excused – please see section 9(d) of the current School Terms and Conditions.
Separate prior consent will be requested for any events that incur costs.
