General Information
Attention Maxwell Rodeo Participants: This year's 93rd Annual Maxwell Rodeo will be held on Saturday May 18th, 2024. In order to participate in the rodeo, applicants must sign up for all events in advance. Entries will be open to Maxwell Students/Residents only, starting on Monday March 25, 2024. Entries will be open to the rest of the public on Wednesday April 8, 2024. All entries are due by 4:00pm, Friday April 26th, 2024. Late entries will NOT be accepted, if an entry is a partnered event, both entries must be submitted on time. There will be NO exceptions! Again, this year there will be NO alternates, and some events have limits so please do not delay. Entry confirmations will be posted on the Maxwell Rodeo Facebook Page. We look forward to seeing you at the 93rd Annual Maxwell Rodeo! Come celebrate the last free rodeo!

We, the undersigned understand that : Horse riding, sheep riding and other rodeo activities are hazardous recreational activities, which may result in injury to participants or spectators. The Maxwell Unified School District does not require any student to participate in or attend Rodeo activities. Rodeo participation and attendance is purely voluntarily. I understand that participants voluntarily assume the risk of any injury or damage that they may sustain as a result of participation or attendance at the Rodeo. I understand that each participant and each participant's parent or guardian, if the participant is a minor, herby release and waives any causes of action or other claims for injury or damage to person, livestock or equipment, against the Maxwell Unified School District, its trustees, officers, agents or employees, that may arise as a result of his or her participation in the rodeo activities.

Horse Show Entry
Horse Show begins at 11:00am. Leading allowed in races if necessary, but time may not count in placing with riders that are not led. Horses must be sound to compete. Rodeo attire is required: Button-up collared shirt, jeans and boots. NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO.
You may only enter once in each event.
Lead Line- ages 6 & under
Walk Jog- ages 10 & under
Single Stake Race- grade K-5 (Limit 10)
Barrel racing- grade K-5 (Limit 10)

Rodeo Entry
Rodeo Begins at 1:00 pm. Entries will fill, a confirmation list will be posted on Facebook page. Horses must be sound to compete. Must bring your own necessary items for ALL events! Incomplete entries will be void. Each rider/participant must submit their own entry, even for team events. Rodeo attire is required: Button up collared shirt, jeans and boots. NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO. Limits on Events: Barrels/Poles/Goats- 15 entries Cow Riding- 6 entries. You must provide all equipment and an adult must be with you to assist with rigging. Cowhide Race- 20 entries and riders can pull a max of 3 participants. Steer Riding- 10 entries, adult must be with you to assist with rigging. You must bring your own equipment and have an adult present to help with the rigging. Ranch Roping/Saddle Cow Riding- 6 teams Open Team Roping- 10 teams. You many only enter once.

Jim Dennis Memorial Sheep Riding 4-6 years old. Helmet Required. Weight limit 65lbs. One parent must be present. (Limit 20)

Pole Bending- Grades 6th-12th (Limit 10)
Steer Riding- ages 10-13 years (Limit 10) Specify below the adult that will be responsible for the rigging. If no adult present, you will not ride.
Cowhide Race. Hide rider must wear helmet, gloves and protective coveralls and may only enter once. Horse rider must be 18yrs or older, provide your own rope and may only pull a maximum of 3 riders. (Limit 20 teams, rider pulling max of 3)
Cow Riding- Highschool student. (Limit 6) Specify below the adult that will be responsible for the rigging. If no adult present, you will not ride.
Open Team Roping (Limit 10 teams, Limited to one entry per rider)
Goat Tying- Grades 6th-12th (Limit 10)
Barrel Racing- Grades 6th-12th (Limit 10)
Amanda Edwards Memorial Ranch Roping (Limit 6 teams)
Saddle Cow Riding- HS and above. (Limit 6 teams)
