Welcome to season 2 of Taste of Home.
A special invitation to those who’ve made Canada their home in the last 5 years or so. Join us in our newly renovated space with an updated kitchen at Broad View United (3703 St. Aidan’s St.), for an intercultural journey of food and stories. Here, memories and flavors from around the world come together, creating a tapestry of shared experiences.
Program Structure:
· Cooking and Storytelling: Each session features a chef who cooks a meaningful dish, sharing its story and cultural significance.
· Communal Meal: Participants savor the dish together, enjoying the warmth of shared dining.
· Circle of Stories: After the meal, everyone is invited to share their own stories, inspired by the food and its narrative.
· Weeks of Connection (optional): On weeks without sessions, participants are encouraged to pair up with volunteers from the congregation for home-cooked meals, deepening friendships.
· A Feast of Friendship: The program culminates in a vibrant “Taste of Home Potluck Supper,” open to the Broad View United congregation and friends.
