  • This research aims to investigate the characteristics of speech in British English.

    We need participants who:

    1.    Are first-year undergraduate students or in the gap year before university, aged 18 or beyond.

    2.    Grew up in Cambridge and have not extensively stayed elsewhere over the last 12 months.

    3.    Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision.

    4.    Have no reading disability.

    You will be invited to the phonetics lab at the University of Cambridge (CB3 9DA). The task is to read a list of sentences and your voice will be recorded. You will then fill in a brief questionnaire. At the end of the session, you will be reimbursed £10 for your participation. The whole session takes around 30 minutes, and you only have to come once.
