  • Authorized Training Provider (ATP) information

  • All instructors must be employed by an Authorized Training Provider (ATP). Please select your employer from the list below or select "New Provider" if your company is not yet an ATP.

  • Business documentation

    In order to be eligible to become an ATP, you must provide the following documentation for verification:

    • A valid business license
    • Proof of commercial liability insurance (also called a COI)

    If you do not have the required documentation on hand, you may still submit your application and send the outstanding items to pevo@esc.org.

  • Briefly explain why you'd like to become a Washington State PEVO instructor through Evergreen Safety Council.  Please include and transportation industry experience and/or presentation or teaching experience you may have.

  • Letters of recommendation

  • Per Washington State Pilot/Escort Oversight Committee (PEOC) requirements, all instructor candidates must submit a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation highlighting transportation industry and teaching experience.

    Letter requirements

    Letter #1 -- must verify that you have a minimum of 3 years of documented teaching or training experience

    Letter #2 -- must include your working knowledge of Pilot/Escort Vehicle operations, the transportation industry, and pertinent regulations. 

    Who may submit a letter of recommendation?

    Letters of recommendation may be submitted by anyone who can verify your knowledge and experience, such as a current or former employer or contractor.  Letters may not be written by an employee, direct report, or family member.   

    Letter format

    To be considered, letters of recommendation must meet the following standards:

    • Letters must be typed on company letterhead. (If letterhead is not available, a company business card will be acceptable).
    • Each letter must include the contact information of the author.

  • In order to be eligible to take the Washington State PEVO Instructor certification course, you must must provide the following documentation as required by the PEOC:

    • Current Washington State PEVO certification
    • Valid driver license

  • Next steps

    Once your application has been processed, you will receive a notification via email.  If approved, you will need to complete the following steps in order to be eligible to earn an Evergreen Safety Council Washington State PEVO instructor certification:

    • Submit all required documentation
    • Attend and successfully complete the 3-day Washington State PEVO Instructor course presented by Evergreen Safety Council
    • Pass the instructor certification exam on first attempt with a score of 90% or better
    • Sign an instructor contract
