    PreK- 2nd Grade Early Childhood Education Training Topics:

    • A "small sampling" of the Nature Niños "WONDER-lings" Certification Program a Nature & Place-based Early Childhood Education curriculum created by our partner, Sally Stevens, with Sol Forest School.

    • Project Wild- Project WILD's mission is to provide wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources. All curriculum materials are backed by sound educational practices and theory and represent the work of many professionals within the fields of education and natural resource management from across the country.

    12:00 PM - 1:00 PM      Lunch (BYOL Bring Your Own Picnic Lunch) & Social Hour 


    1:00 PM - 1:50 PM         Break Out Session One

    2:00 PM - 2:50 PM        Break Out Session Two 

    Break Out Session Options (to include all educators):

    • Basic Archery- try your hand on a NASP certified archery range and learn how your school/group can start their own Archery Team! 
      Basic Fishing- learn the basics of trout fishing! Knot tying, casting, cleaning and cooking your catch! 
    • Basic Nature Journaling- discover the importance of self-reflection and self-guided art discovery. 
    • Supporting Nature Play & Learning through Loose Parts
    • The Importance of Storytelling in Nature

  • Main Session Choices

  • Curriculum Options:

    Nature & Place- based Early Childhood Training (PreK-2nd):

    Educators that attend this session will leave the summit with hands on ideas for integrating nature in the classroom, using nature as the 3rd teacher and brainstorming ideas for getting kids out of the classroom! Educators will also leave with a copy of "Growing Up Wild."

    * One copy per school/ ECE center. If more than one educator attends from the same site, only one copy will be distributed to be used as a site resource. 

     

    Project Wild/Project Aquatic/Flying Wild (3rd- High School):

    Educators that attend this sessions will leave the summit with a clear understanding and in-person examples on how to integrate Project Wild/Project Aquatic and Flying Wild into their classroom science lessons. Educators will leave with a copy of the "Project Wild" curriclum. 

    * One copy per school/ ECE center. If more than one educator attends from the same site, only one copy will be distributed to be used as a site resource.

    If you are choosing to pay for a School/Center (2 staff) please be sure to list the other staff member on the first page of the registration form under additoinal educators. The additional educators will still need to fill out the registration forms but will choose "already paid" so they aren't charged an additional fee.
