Scholarship Application - Current College Students & Adult Learners

This application form is for current college students and continuing education. For other application forms (High School Class of 2025 or Music) visit keweenawgives.org/scholarships

Instructions for Completing This Form:
1. Select Eligible Scholarships: Begin by choosing all scholarships for which you meet the eligibility criteria.
2. Fill Out the Form: Complete the form below with accurate and detailed information to the best of your knowledge.
3. Compose Short Essays: Some scholarships require a short essay (or multiple essays). We recommend drafting your essays separately and then pasting them into the designated boxes in this form.
4. Save and Return Later: You may save your progress and return to complete the application at another time. Deadline for submission: Sunday, March 16, 2025.
5. Provide a Recommendation: A brief letter of recommendation is required. A request form will be sent to the email address of a teacher, coach, or another unrelated adult you identify.

Alec Fisher Scholarship: available to students currently enrolled at Michigan Technological University with a preference for those majoring in Environmental Engineering or Management Information Systems. Must be Junior class or above next Fall semester.Bernard F. Gaffney Memorial Scholarship: open to alumni of Houghton High School. Successful applicants will demonstrate character, financial need, and determination to achieve their educational or training goals.Gary Heikenen Memorial Scholarship: open to individuals residing in Keweenaw County who plan to pursue education or training at an accredited institution of higher learning.Sean M. Williams Memorial Scholarship: open to KBIC members and descendants enrolled at Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, preference for those in the Liberal Studies program or Anishnaabe Studies program.
