  • Monthly Hour Requirements

  • Regular attendance is essential for the successful completion of this program. The course curriculum is covered in 1,000 clock hours. We have a time clock in accordance with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s rules. The time clock is for a record of the hours students have earned. Students must remember to clock in and out each day, failure to do so will result in a loss of hours for that day.

NOTE: Students can be clocked out by instructors for behavior problems, not having supplies, etc. Students are responsible for clocking themselves in and out each day, if a student chooses not to comply, disciplinary actions may take place, as well as a loss of hours, and possible removal from the program.

The course curriculum is very structured and detailed. Students with poor attendance will not be able to meet the required hours by the end of their senior year. This will result in a student having to complete their hours through a private school of cosmetology, as well as, 1,500 clocked hours instead of the high school 1,000 hours. We encourage each student to maintain regular attendance and we will do everything we can to make each day exciting! The student will take the state written exam at 900 hours and the state practical exam after completing all 1,000 hours.
