For the purposes of data protection law, Highgate School is the data controller for any personal data you supply to us. This personal data will be processed in accordance with data protection law, only used for the purpose(s) for which you have supplied it to us and our Privacy Notice, and (except where you have consented) only shared with third parties where it is necessary for us to do so and the law allows it. If we share your personal information with another organisation (e.g. another school, Local Authority, Department for Education or another government department etc.) this will be to help us act upon what you have told us or because these organisations need to be made aware of what you are telling us (in order for them to act upon it). We will process your personal data, including photographs and video recordings, for the purpose of administering, monitoring, evaluating the partnerships and progress of individual pupils, promoting and publicising the partnerships.
Any parent/carer who wishes to limit the use of images of a pupil for whom they are responsible should contact data@highgateschool.org.uk. The School will always respect the wishes of parents/carers (and indeed pupils themselves) wherever reasonably and practicably possible, and in accordance with the School’s Policy on Taking, Storing and Using Images of Pupils. Parents should be aware that, from around the age of 13 and upwards, the law recognises pupils' own rights to have a say in how their personal information is used – including images.
Please let us know if you do not wish us to share your information with relevant organisations by emailing data@highgateschool.org.uk but also be aware that we might not be able to act upon your correspondence if we do not share it. It is also important to note that, in certain circumstances, we might have a legal obligation to share the information that you have supplied to us with other organisations.
