Livestock Project Application
RULE: Participants can only participate for 3 years in full program. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please call the ACEDC office at 641-322-5229

Each 4-H or FFA member selected will be given livestock to raise & enter at the 2023 Adams County Fair. Member agrees to:

1. Attend meetings to learn about raising and caring for their animal, regulations/testing requirements, rules for showing livestock at Fair, and record keeping.

2. Practice times for handlingshow at the 2023 Adams County Fair

3. Must pay registration fee per project

4. Must keep records using forms provided and return to ACEDC office by September 15, 2023 to receive refund of registration fee. (Report forms are online adamscountyiowa.com under the ACEDC – Rural Development tab)

5. Must allow Committee members to periodically inspect animals

6. If, at any time, the ACEDC RD Committee determines that the animal is not being properly cared for and their recommendations to improve the health and care of the animal are not followed, they have the authority to remove the animal from the participant’s possession.

7. Verify that they have prepared for:
- Housing
- Heat
- Feed
- Water
- Wood Chips or other bedding
