2026 Diamond Foundation Scholarship Application

The DIAMOND Foundation, Inc. was founded on June 24, 2003 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt philanthropic foundation of the New Brunswick Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The primary purpose of the foundation is to provide educational opportunities to children in need within but not limited to Somerset and Middlesex counties and to develop programming that benefits the local community.

The DIAMOND Foundation, Inc. provides multiple scholarships. Each scholarship award is comprised of a $1500 - $2500 monetary award.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION

¨      These scholarships are intended for graduating high school students from Somerset and Middlesex Counties who plan to attend a four-year institution of higher learning. Students must either have selected a college or completed the application process. Monetary awards can only be distributed after college enrollment certification has been completed.

¨ Must be a student of color

¨      All applicants must submit a current high school transcript. The minimum GPA necessary for scholarship consideration is 3.0.

¨      To be considered for a scholarship, all materials must be SUBMITTED by Sunday, April 10, 2026.

¨      Scholarship awards will be presented in the form check which will be made payable to the awardee in a manner that will not affect any college or university financial aid package. The check will be dispersed upon receipt of proof of registration at a college or university.

Please submit the following with the completed application:

- Personal Data Information (may include a resume as well)

- ONLY Two letters of recommendation. One must be from a teacher or guidance counselor. All letters must be typed (word or pdf format)

- An official copy of your high school transcript

- A photograph

- A 500 - 750 word essay encompassing answers to both of the following questions:

“What do you believe has been your greatest accomplishment and why?”

“What did you need to overcome to successfully achieve this accomplishment?"

JOHN D. STEINLINE JR MEMORIAL AWARD
This is a one-year scholarship award presented to a student of color. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be a graduating high school senior from Somerset, Middlesex or Union counties matriculating to a four-year college or university. This award is also open to the graduating members of the New Brunswick Alumni Kappa League program.

MICHAEL G. GREENE MEMORIAL AWARD
This is a one-year scholarship award presented to a student of color. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be a graduating high school senior from Somerset, Middlesex or Union counties matriculating to a four-year college or university. This award is also open to the graduating members of the New Brunswick Alumni Kappa League program.

CHARLES L. McRAE AWARD
This is a one-year scholarship award presented to a student of color. The student must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be a graduating high school senior from Somerset, Middlesex or Union counties matriculating to a four-year college or university. This award is also open to the graduating members of the New Brunswick Alumni Kappa League program.

MARSHALL B. SIMMONS MEMORIAL AWARD
This is a one-year scholarship award presented to a graduating member of the New Brunswick Alumni Kappa League program who will be attending a four-year college or university.
