The Albuquerque Alumnae Chapter

The Albuquerque Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on March 18, 1967 by fifteen awe-inspiring Delta Women. Central to our history are projects that support families and improve conditions for those underrepresented in our community.
Judith R. Harris Scholarship

The Judith R. Harris scholarship is named in honor of Judith Rouse Harris who passed away June 7, 2010. Judith was an active, trailblazing leader who served and volunteered throughout the state of New Mexico. Most notably, she served as the Executive Director of The Sickle Cell Council of New Mexico for many years. She was a very active, long-standing member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The Judith R. Harris Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students in the Albuquerque and surrounding areas. The scholarship may be used for books, tuition and fees. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship committee will use unweighted GPAs. Applicants must provide a signed letter from a school counselor and a community service leader. Application deadline: March 31, 2023.
