1. The registration is full of a breeding/show agreement.
2. The Seller in no way guarantees that this puppy/dog shall win in conformation and/or performance events.
3. The Buyer of show/breeding puppies shall obtain OFA hip and elbow certification (or Penn Hip equivalent) as soon as possible after the puppy/dog reaches 24 months of age. This includes annual heart and eyes certifications.
4. When the Seller receives a copy of these certifications or is notified that verification is available from the OFA website, the Seller will release ownership to the Buyer. This will help us continue to provide the healthiest, happiest, and soundest pets possible.
5. Buyer will pay the transfer of ownership fee from the AKC after Certifications have been verified by the Seller from the OFA website.
6. If the Buyer decides to spay/neuter the dog, the Seller will release ownership to the Buyer when the Seller receives a copy of the spay/neuter record from a Board-Certified Veterinarian.
7. All breeding must be done by contract, and any dog bred to this Golden Retriever must have OFA hip, elbow, heart, and eyes certification, Genetic screening for Golden Retriever-prone diseases, and any other health clearances typical for the breed.
8. No bitch should be bred to a male Golden Retriever without pre-breeding medical workup (that includes testing for brucellosis, a dangerous bacterial infection that causes the death of preborn puppies, and often sterilization) results for the bitch to be bred. Please refer to this breeding article for appropriate testing of the bitch before breeding.
9. The Buyer acknowledges that special coat care, conditioning, training, and feeding are necessary to produce a competitive Golden Retriever in conformation and performance events and that this care and training is his/her responsibility.
10. The Seller agrees that any deviation from the provisions of this contract will cause one of the following: the immediate return of the dog/pup to the breeder in good health and or a $5,000 fine will be due and payable to the breeder as a penalty. In the case of abuse, both the return of the animal and the fine will be imposed. If any legal action occurs, the prevailing party will be entitled to recover reasonable costs and all attorney fees.
11. The Seller and the Buyer have read and understood the terms and conditions outlined above.
