    This form is to be completed by the parent or guardian for each student and submitted at least five (5) school days prior to the planned travel.
  • EDUCATIONAL TRIP GUIDELINES

    1. All requests for educational travel shall be submitted on the prescribed
      form five (5) school days prior to the proposed trip and approved by the
      building principal or designee. Any absence due to a non-approved trip
      will be recorded as an unexcused or illegal absence.
    2. Parents or guardians shall be responsible for stating the relationship
      between the proposed educational travel and the list of educational goals.
    3. Students participating in an approved educational travel experience
      directly related to sound educational goals will have the absence recorded
      as excused.
    4. Parents or guardians shall be responsible for the child's education during
      the time of travel.
    5. Parents and guardians shall assume responsibility for assuring that all
      required assignments and make-up work are completed within time limits
      specified by school policy. Student academic performance will be a
      determining factor in the approval of any educational trip.
    6. The School District shall accept neither financial responsibility nor
      liability for students excused for the purpose of educational travel.
    7. The building principal or designee shall return a signed copy of the
      educational travel request indicating that the request form has been
      accepted.

  • The Daniel Boone School District recognizes the value of educational travel. However, the parent must assume responsibility for the child's academic progress while not in attendance. A child's education is a shared responsibility between the District and the home, therefore, educational travel must be directly related to sound educational objectives
