  • Volunteer Registration Form

    All volunteers receive: Hooplandia swag, free parking during the event, two tickets to the 2023 Big E, a meal voucher during your shift, and more to be announced! Must be 16 years old by June 15 to volunteer.

  • Volunteer Opportunities

    Please check the boxes that you can work. Please only sign-up for those areas/times that work best for your schedule. For staffing purposes, we request that you commit to two or more shifts. You will be contacted with more details after submitting this form.

    For group registration we will do our best to place you with your group. Depending on the size of your group and the number of volunteers needs for a particular task, we may need to divide you into smaller teams.

    Volunteer Orientation will occur Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22, please plan to be available one of these dates to participate. Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions available.

  • Office Help

    A variety or organizational and set-up tasks will need support prior to the event. All of these tasks occur in the two weeks prior to the event during regular business hours.
  • Team Check-in

    Team Check-in volunteers are responsible for distributing team packets to all teams that have enrolled in Hooplandia. Some volunteers greet teams while others retrieve team packets and T-shirts. Volunteers must be able to lift boxes and stand and walk on uneven surfaces. Volunteers for Thursday set-up and Friday break down must be mobile and able to lift heavy boxes.
  • Runners & Water Distribution

    Runners & Water Distribution volunteers are responsible for distributing water, lunches, court equipment, collecting score sheets, and any other supporting needs of Basketball Central including assistance with merchandise organization. This position may require certain volunteers to lift and carry heavy bags of ice and cases/jugs of water, move sports equipment, unpack boxes, etc.
  • Fan Zones & Contest Courts

    Volunteers assist with interactive activities (slam dunk, three-point, free throw, full court, dribble and vertical jump competitions), checking in participants, and general visitor interaction.
  • Court Monitors & Scorekeepers

    Those with an in-depth knowledge of basketball are needed to keep score, track baskets, and officiate youth games. Court Monitors manage behavior on the court and officiate youth games (grades 2-7), keep score, and communicate court needs to Basketball Central.
  • Basketball Central

    Basketball Central Volunteers will assist with court monitor and official check-in and check-out procedures. Volunteers in this area should have a comfort level with use of technology, a basic knowledge of scoring, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
