About Our Bankers & Books Program
Texas Jump$tart Coalition's Bankers & Books Program allows leaders in the financial industry to share their knowledge of and enthusiasm for promoting financial education to school children across Texas. Through standards-based mini-lessons, volunteers cover such topics as: saving and spending, counting money, identifying coins, compound interest, entrepreneurship, and so much more.
We provide a complete package of resources: from an introductory letter for the school or district, to a follow-up survey for promoting each volunteer's organization on the Texas Jump$tart Coalition website.
Resources include...
- Introductory Letter to the School/District explaining the program, expectations for the volunteer and teacher during the lesson, and estimated timing for the lesson.
- Customizeable Brochure about the Bankers & Books Program for use in company newsletters or promotional materials.
- Book List with TEKS-based Mini-Lessons which are grouped by grade level.
- Helpful Tips for Volunteers to allow the process to go smoothly.
