Case Study 1:

As a teacher in a school you will be taking on a position of leadership. You will be leading students in rural areas to make significant academic and holistic growth. You will also be encouraged to think about how you can affect systemic change in the wider school and community. Given this context, tell us about your most significant leadership experience to date -- a time when you were in a position of leadership and led a team, group of people or another person. The example you give can either be of a formal or informal position and from any context, but it should be a recent example (within the last 3-4 years). We recommend that you state examples from your graduation period and beyond, and refrain from stating examples of high school. Your essay should answer all of the following prompts. List the responsibilities you had in leading your team towards the goal.

Case Study 2

Joining the Fellowship is a significant commitment. You are committing to be part of this program for 1 year. In order to have a significant impact on your students and school, you are going to have to persevere through some big challenges. Given this context, tell us about a time when you set an ambitious or challenging goal, or took up an ambitious task, and persevere through challenges in order to meet it. Your commitment must be of at least one month and should be from a professional or extracurricular context only. It should also be a recent one (within the last 3-4 years). We recommend that you state examples from your graduation period and beyond, and refrain from stating examples of high school. Your essay should answer all of the following prompts.

What was the ambitious goal or commitment you were trying to achieve?

What challenges did you face when trying to achieve this goal?
