Workshop Description: Composting makes use of waste and livens up soil. And it’s easy to do! But there are some obstacles to overcome – fear of rats, smells and work being the main ones. Come learn the secrets of safely and quickly making rich nutritious compost out of your kitchen and yard waste. Learn why, how, where, when, and what. Where should I set up my bin? Can I compost cooked food? Do I need an activator? And what about those vexing compostable bags? Bring your questions for this lively discussion!
Facilitated by Joyce McMenamon. Joyce McMenamon is a Master Composter, an Organic Master Gardener, and has been making rich wormy compost for longer than she cares to admit. She owns Fresh Earth Products which makes the metal Speedibin composters. An avid food gardener, her happy place is helping others make compost successfully and safely.
