The Queensland Motocross Subcommittee (QMXSC) is responsible for the grading of all Senior, Junior, Veteran & Female motocross riders licensed through Motorcycling Queensland.
The QMXSC WILL NOT consider grading a Junior competitor to a Senior grade until they have turned Senior. Interstate Senior competitors are graded by their relevant State Controlling Body (SCB), A rider's grade from another SCB will transfer to MQ. but please let MQ Office know your grade. A rider's grade from another country can transfer also but you must show proof.
These Guidelines have been developed by the Motorcycling Queensland Motocross Subcommittee and are available from the Motorcycling Queensland website, in the Motorcycling Queensland Club Manual, or by contacting the Motorcycling Queensland office (07) 3281-2255.

There are three grades of motocross riders in Queensland, they are:

2.0 CRITERIA: Gradings will be undertaken by the Qld Motocross Subcommittee, in conjunction with advice from the Queensland MX Grading Committee, with the items listed below taken into account.
2.1 Riders have a right to appeal their grading but must do so within 5 days of notification. The appeal must come from the rider in writing, not by any other means.
a) Rider results during an OPEN/ZONE series.
b) Accumulated points at the end of the OPEN/ZONE series
c) Injuries or other extenuating circumstances throughouts series.
d) Lap times
e) Home track/surface advantage.
f) Performance at other level 3 (or higher) events.
g) Experience and maturity of Juniors moving to Seniors
h) Junior grades are also by classes
i) All 65's (7-U12 years)
ii) Mini Lites (9-U12 years)
iii) Mini Lites (12-U16 years)
iv) Junior Lites 125 2/ & 250 4/ (13 to U16 years)
i) Veterans who have been previously graded Senior Pro (A) or Senior Expert (B) grade will start as a Veteran in their respective Senior grade.
j) In exceptional circumstances a rider may retain their previous grade.
k) Riders graded during a series may retain a percentage of their points as per the supp-regs.
2.2 Grading will ONLY take place:-
a) At MX Subcommittee meetings, or by other means if necessary.
b) After Round 1 Sunshine State MX Series.
c) Before the Queensland MX Championship.
d) After the Sunshine State MX Series, Central Queensland MX Series & Tropical North Queensland MX Series.
e) Before and After Round 1 of the SEQ Junior Series if required (Junior Riders only) f) Or after a written request (using the MQ grading form Ridernet Grade requests will not be accepted without submission of the grading request form.
3.0 WRITTEN APPLICATIONS:
Riders can apply in writing on the Queensland Motocross Grading Request Form to the Subcommittee to be upgraded or downgraded. Written applications with the relevant information stating why they should be upgraded or downgraded Must be sent to the Motorcycling Queensland office and addressed to Attention Motocross Subcommittee. HOWEVER, these applications may not be considered until the next Subcommittee meeting.
4.0 EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
In exceptional circumstances any eligible rider may be graded at the discretion of the Motocross Subcommittee (only) outside of these Guidelines. Conditions will apply.
5.0 RE CLASSIFICATION:
The Motocross Subcommittee reserves the right to DOWNGRADE riders from any grade based on: a) Lack of participation of one year or more. b) No improvement or consistent bad results at the higher grade.
