  • Adult Team 2023 Registration

  • We are excited for a fun spring season and welcome returning rowers and new Learn to Row grads. Many of you have been hard at work behind the scenes prepping, cleaning boats, planning, moving ergs and launches, taking coxing and coaching classes and we THANK YOU for all your hard work.

We have adjusted our adult registration process. Here is an overview of the process:

    1. Register on Jotform (you are here, ready to complete this first step!)
    2. After your Jotform is submitted, you will be added to the Adult Rowing Members 2023. You will receive a message from iCrew welcoming you and dues and required documents to row will be applied to your account. All adult members will be placed on this team.
    3. Once your dues are paid and the required documents are complete, you will be added to the Adult Open 2023 team and/or Adult Comp 2023 team with coach approval. Learn to Row grads will be placed on the Open team. The competitive team will be for those who wish to train hard and compete in regattas if you are interested in racing. Priority will be given to race line-ups. Not all competitive team members have to race in regattas, and on the flip side, there will be several regattas that Open team members can participate in as well.

*Please note the teams are set-up to be fluid and rowers should expect to be ready to assist when their name comes up on the last cox list to either cox, fill a seat in a new Learn to Row boat, or drive a launch (if qualified).

Whether you want to be out rowing on the water with friends, enjoying Eagle Harbor or if you are rowing to compete in regattas, there is a place for you!

  • IMPORTANT! COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOL UPDATES. PLEASE READ!

PLEASE NOTE: BIR STRONGLY REQUESTS "Up To Date Vaccination" (which may include a booster, depending on vaccine type and date given) for all program participants.

Masks may be required depending on local transmission levels. BIR is committed to offering the safest possible experience both for our rowers and our community at large.

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • iCrew Profile:

Please review your iCrew profile for any missing and outdated information. We will be utilizing iCrew more and it is helpful to have your up-to-date information:

    • cell phone
    • emergency contact name and phone
    • birthday
    • USRowing #
    • your rowing preferences

For regatta participants: under 'Rower Settings' update your event preferences and current regatta participation goals, this will help coaches determine line-ups.

    Required Documents:

Please check your iCrew documents and make sure they are complete and all waivers signed. You will also find these listed under 'To Do List'

    • BIR Waiver - sign electronically in iCrew
    • US Rowing Membership and USRowing Waiver - All adult rowers must be registered with USRowing for liability and insurance purposes. You will need a USRowing Member # and expiration date to complete this registration.

To obtain a USRowing Member #:

    log in to USRowing
    Team Name: Bainbridge Island Rowing
Use club code: KRCBC (case-sensitive) to be added to the BIR roster.

    • BIR Float Test: Check your iCrew documents to make sure your Float Test is on file. If you have a certificate, please upload it to iCrew in your documents. We will accept float tests from another rowing club within the last 10 years. We will also accept a Lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) card, a current PADI or similar diving certificate.

If you need to take a Float Test for the first time or if yours is expiring (they are good for 10 years), BIR will be offering float tests on the first evening of each Learn to Row session. If you would like to row before a float test is offered, you can contact the Aquatic Center and take their standard swim test in the interim and then take the first available float test offered by BIR.

Upcoming float tests given by BIR at the BI Aquatics Center:

    Thursday, May 18, 8-8:30pm
    Thursday, June 15, 8-8:30pm
    Thursday, July 13, 8-8:30pm

    A few things to note:

    • when you upload a document, it will still say 'not on file' because this is a manual process and is updated by the club admin, this may take a few days, so check back.
    • USRowing membership, waiver and SafeSport will automatically be updated. There is no need to upload any documents. Once a week we do an import of our USRowing roster, which includes your membership, signed waiver and completed SafeSport. This is synched in iCrew so if you feel like you have completed these and they are not showing up in iCrew, please reach out to Safesport@bainbridgerowing.org or admin@bainbridgerowing.org and we can help investigate why your accounts aren't synching

  • SafeSport Training

New this year, SafeSport awareness discussions will be held with all adult teams and online training is recommended. Because of interactions with juniors at regattas and as coxswains, rowers on the Adult Competitive 2023 team are required to take the 90-min SafeSport Trained Core course. (30-min 'refreshers' in subsequent years.) Competitive team members should self-attest 'yes' they have intereaction with Juniors (under 18 years). This is necessary for competing in regattas.

To access the course, open your USRowing profile here and click on the SafeSport icon on the lower left. It'll take a few minutes to load. Find the 'Core' course. Take a screenshot if you stop mid-way. When completed, log back into USRowing to reset your profile so the course shows up and will get synched to iCrew. Contact safesport@bainbridgerowing with any questions.

  • * If you need to pause your registration, you can save it and come back later to finish. You will find the 'Save and Continue Later' button at the bottom of the form alongside the 'Submit' button.
