The Georgia Peer Policy Collective, or “The Collective" is a new initiative of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network. The Collective's goal is to raise the peer voice of lived experience in policy discussions in Georgia and actively advocate for our top 5 priorities on behalf of Georgians living with mental health concerns.
The Collective welcomes our allies and supporters across the state of Georgia.
Allies and supporters are an integral part of The Collective’s organizational structure as a whole. Those individuals and organizations that identify themselves as our allies and our supporters recognize that peers are a valuable and vital asset to changing legislative mental health policy in Georgia and that the peer voice of lived experience is essential to the legislative process and must be heard by lawmakers.
Voting is reserved for those who self-identify as peers living with mental health concerns. Though allies and supporters cannot vote, their participation and feedback is valued, respected, and will be considered by peer members before voting occurs.
