PUBLIC ART PROGRAM - CALL FOR ENTRIES
  • The City of Farmington Hills Cultural Arts Division invites regional artists to submit work for consideration for exhibit as part of the Biennual Public Art Program, hosted at The Hawk Community Center and Farmington Hills City Hall.

This combined application is for both buildings, in order to accomodate artists who may want to be considered for both locations.

These beautiful facilities offer display opportunities to showcase many diverse types of art, which will be seen and enjoyed by citizens, visitors, and staff. During the two-year duration of the program, there are also rotating exhibits and onsite events which will coincide with the exhibit, providing more exposure with local art collectors and businesses.

Artwork of all media is encouraged, including: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, fiber art, digital art, ceramics, glass, indoor & outdoor sculpture, and more! This opportunity is open to all regional artists; applicants do not have to be a resident of Farmington Hills.

If the item is sold during the exhibit period, the artist will retain 100% of the sale, but must keep the artwork up until the end of the exhibit's 2-year time period.

Artists may submit up to 5 pieces of artwork that they would like to commit to the program. Only 1 image is required for submission. All artwork must be of professional quality and if chosen, must be display ready.

If you have artwork that tells the story of our city, please let us know. Our staff has been asked specifically to look out for pieces that are related to Farmington Hills by showing the beauty and opportunity that this area provides. Examples include: skateboard art referencing the Riley Skatepark in Founders Park, photography from the golf course or Heritage Park, scrap sculpture from automotive-supplier headquarters, plein air painting from the Farmington Art Foundation, fiber art or wood-based sculpture made in the Makerspace, etc.

** If you are having trouble uploading images to the application, there are several free websites that can resize your pictures. Look up: free image reduction or resizing.
