NCPA Executive Residency Overview and Application Requirements

The National Community Pharmacists Association Executive Residency in Association Management is a springboard into a career of association work and leadership in health care. The NCPA Executive Resident gains insight and experience in association management through involvement with the NCPA Innovation Center and contributions to the departments of Strategic Initiatives, Professional Affairs, Government Affairs, Membership, Communications, Operations, and Conventions and Meetings. The Executive Resident is given numerous opportunities to travel and network with other health care professionals and leaders.

The Executive Resident receives a competitive salary and a benefits package including 21 days PTO, federal holidays, health/dental/vision insurance with optional HSA, life and disability insurance options, and eligibility for a 401(k) retirement savings plan.

The Executive Resident is located at NCPA Headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, VA. NCPA Headquarters is a short walk from the King Street metro station. 

Be prepared to submit the following supporting documents as part of the application:  

• A letter of intent expressing your career goals and reason for interest in the executive residency
• A copy of your most recent resume or CV describing your work and professional experience
• Headshot photograph (optional)
• Official transcript from your school/college of pharmacy. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 point scale. Transcripts should be emailed to hannah.fish@ncpa.org. 
• Two letters of recommendation endorsing your interest and ability to effectively participate in this dynamic environment. At least one letter of recommendation from a community pharmacist is strongly encouraged. Letters of recommendation should be emailed directly to Hannah Fish, Associate Director, Strategic Initiatives at hannah.fish@ncpa.org.
