NBMLK Application Form - Scholarship Grant 2023

NOTICE: Relatives of the board of directors and the scholarship committee of the New Braunfels MLK Association, Inc. are disqualified from receiving a scholarship from us because of regulations governing non-profits. Board and scholarship committee members are : Michael Franklin, Gloria Ford, Kathleen Krueger, Susan Tate, Cordelia Grant, Chevone Franklin, Bryon McIntyre, Heidi Forgione, Beth Barry, Kristi Andrews and Tim Cronin.

All correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. Please be advised that all questions should be submitted to info@nbmlk.com. Specific questions about how to answer questions or what information you should provide shall not be answered. Above the signature line are directions on the methods you may use to submit an application.

New Braunfels MLK Association, Inc. shall award a one time non-traditional scholarship in the amount of $2,000.00 in 2023 on or before May 31, 2023 to an individual who meets the following requirements:

Resides within the city limits of New Braunfels or Comal County, Texas.
Is twenty-five (25) years or older in age at the time of application.
Intends to be a full time or part-time student enrolled in a school in order to acquire the skills to become more financially independent.
Completes an application which includes (i) personal information; (ii) statement and information of financial need; (iii) education, employment experience, community services; (iv) how and why he/she selected the vocation he/she wishes to pursue;
Must be accepted to an accredited school or college and provide supporting documentatoin from the institution. Scholarship funds will not be released until this information is received.
Understands that scholarship funds will be sent to the school to be used by the recipient and that any unused funds will be returned to the New Braunfels MLK Association, Inc.
