AWOL/MISSING CHILD REPORT
RUNAWAYS AND MISSING CHILDREN

In the event that a child under our care is missing or AWOL, the staff on duty shall follow the following guidelines:

Notify the agency’s Administration Team.
Write an incident report on the same day of incident.
Notify Local police.
Call the CPS Hotline at: 888-767-2445
Notify the child’s Case Manager via email and phone on the same day of the incident.
If the youth will not be returning, staff will fill out a discharge form on that youth on the company website.
To prevent AWOLs in the future, the agency will hold group meetings on a weekly basis, allowing the children to express their needs or concerns.
