    Your Sea Kayaking Course will cost $955.

    This includes the following:

    • Professional sea kayak instruction & tuition
    • Access to our online learning platform
    • Training & Assessment for Paddle Australia &/or VET units
    • Parks and Wildlife Camping and License Fees


    The following is NOT included:

    • Food and snacks
    • Personal camping and cooking equipment
    • Sea kayak or paddling equipment
    • Paddle Australia &/or VET Unit accreditation/registration

    If you are under 18 years of age, this enrolment form MUST be completed in conjunction with your parent or guardian. You and your parent or guardian MUST sign off on Sections 5, 6, 7 & 8.
  • TRAINING OPTIONS

    Depending on your existing skill base and how well you perform throughout the course you may be eligible for:

    • Paddle Australia qualifications
    • VET certifications
    • OR both (if you want them)

    Both the Paddle Australia and the VET units come with an additional financial cost (on top of the course fee).

    Here is the breakdown of those EXTRA costs if you want the formal qualification/s:

    • Paddle Australia - Registration Fee for your qualification = $180 (this must be renewed every 3 years including fulfilling the PA Log Book requirements for your qualification)
    • VET Units = $165 for all the units attached to your sea kayaking qualification. There is no ongoing fees but every 5 years the units are updated and if you have not done any paddling in that period, prospective employers will request that you update your qualification. A log book is a great way to show an employer your currency!

    If you require a sea kayak and paddle equipment for the course you can hire it out at $49.50 per day (includes GST)

  • SECTION 3: AVETMISS Information

  • As an RTO we are required to provide to AVETMISS the following information for all participants in training. AVETMISS and PATTA do not disclose this information to any other third parties. As part of the Australian Government Regulatory requirements, the following information is needed for statistical purposes. Please note: Failure to supply the required information makes this enrolment invalid and unable to be processed. You will be unable to continue through this enrolment process without completing ALL questions in this section.

  • SECTION 4: TERMS & CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT

    Please read through this information as you will be signing a declaration stating you understand and accept it in Section 5!
  • 1. Enrolment & Selection
    a) The student is responsible for notifying Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia and their partner Wild Education Tasmania if they have a medical condition or disability or require assistance in their training.
    b) It is the student’s responsibility to note the date, time and location of the course as advertised.
    c) Courses with low enrolments may be cancelled, every effort will be made to contact students, please ensure your contact details are correct.
    e) Requests from the student to transfer or credit their course placement due to changed personal circumstances will be considered and every effort will be made to ensure a placement into an alternative course.
    f) If you are unable to complete your course, due to changed personal circumstances, the RTO will make every effort to ensure you are placed into an alternative pre-scheduled course.
    g) Students can only join after course commencement date if they meet all prerequisites. Full course fees are still payable for late enrolments.
    h) The RTO reserves the right to decline admission to a course, terminate a student's enrolment in a class or change a Trainer/Assessor at any time without notice.
    i) Students participate in courses involving physical activity; field trips, practical demonstrations etc. and do so at their own risk.

    2. Course Fees, Payments and Refunds
    a) Each course available through Wild Education Tasmania & PATTA will have its own fee structure. This information is available to students through the WET website, social media platform &/or direct contact via email and phone. Full payment is required to secure your spot on this course. Your spot is not guaranteed until payment has been received.
    b) In line with the RTO’s Fee Protection Policy the RTO will not collect more than $1,500 prior to course commencement.
    c) Certificates and Statements of Attainment are issued to students who are assessed as competent in the units completed. The cost of the certificates is included in the course fees.
    d) Refunds may be made in the following circumstances:
        i. If after enrolling you cancel a course 30 or more days from the start date – you  will receive a full refund.
        ii. If after enrolling, you cancel a course within 30 days of the start date – you will  be charged $100.
        iii. If after enrolling, you cancel a course within 14 days of the start date – you will  be charged $250
        iv. If after enrolling you do not show up to a course – you will be charged the full    amount
        v. Participants enrolled in training that has been terminated by the RTO
        vi. If the participant withdraws from a course or program, prior to course                commencement, due to illness or extreme hardship as determined by the RTO
        vii. In the event that the RTO fails to provide the agreed services
    e) No refunds will be issued once the student has commenced the course
    f) Students are responsible for the safe storage of their Certificates and Statements of Attainment. If a student requires a reissue of their Certificate or Statement of Attainment, a certificate re-issue fee of $20 will be charged.
    g) If a student is deemed not yet competent on completion of training, they will be offered an opportunity to be reassessed. If a student is deemed not yet competent a second time, they will be given another opportunity for reassessment.
    h) If a student is required to be reassessed, they will be provided with further guidance from their trainer prior to reassessment.
    i) In most cases there will be no reassessment fee. If a reassessment fee is applicable, this fee will be communicated to the student prior to the re-assessment taking place.
    j) If a student is deemed competent in some but not all the units of competencies required, a Statement of Attainment will be issued, and the student will be given a six-month period to undertake reassessment if required.
    k) The RTO is responsible for the issuance of AQF certification documentation

    3. Cooling Off Period
    Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia protects the rights of the learner including but limited to the Statutory requirements for cooling-off periods. Students are eligible to cancel their enrolment by placing a formal notice of cancellation in writing to the RTO Manager (a letter or email is acceptable) within 10 business days of enrolment, unless the student has already commenced the training.

    4. Changes to Agreed Services
    Where there are any changes to the agreed services that will affect the learner, including in the event of Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia closing down, the RTO will advise the learner as soon as practicable. This includes changes to any new third-party arrangements or a change of ownership or any changes to existing third party arrangements.

    5. Consumer Guarantee
    Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia guarantees that the services provided by the RTO will be:
    a) provided with due care and skill
    b) fit for any specified purpose (express or implied)
    c) provided within a reasonable time (when no timeframe is set for the training).

    6. Complaints and Appeals
    If a student is experiencing any difficulties, they are encouraged as a first point of call to discuss their concerns with the Wild Education Tasmania representative. If this does not provide an adequate solution for the student they can contact Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia directly. PATTA administrative staff will make themselves available at a mutually convenient time if a student wishes to seek assistance.
    If a Staff member or Student wishes to make a formal complaint they are required to complete a Complaints and Appeals Form, which will be made available by directly contacting PATTA staff. Once the form has been completed, the form should be submitted to the RTO for actioning.

    7. Credit Transfer
    The RTO recognises the Australian Qualifications Framework and Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications and VET statements of attainment issued by any other Registered Training Organisation. Credit Transfer will be awarded for all units of competencies that directly align with units from the qualification the student has enrolled. Evidence of competences achieved must be supplied for recognition to be processed (i.e. presentation of original certificate or transcript).
    Please be aware there maybe restrictions on the credit transfer of first aid qualifications and units due to the 3 year time span on their validity.

    8. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
    LLN support is available to provide students with advice and support services in the provision of language, literacy and numeracy assessment services. Students needing assistance with their learning is to be identified upon enrolment. Trainers and staff within the RTO can provide students with support to assist the student throughout the learning process.
    Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills are generally included and identified in Training Packages and accredited course programs. In identifying language, literacy and numeracy requirements, students are required to have basic skills in:
    • Count, check and record accurately
    • Read and interpret
    • Estimate, calculate and measure
    All students undertaking a Certificate III qualification or below are required to undertake an LLN Assessment.

    9. Support Services
    Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia caters to diverse client learning needs and aims to identify and respond to the learning needs of all clients. Clients are encouraged to express their views about their learning needs at all stages of their learning experience from the initial enrolment and induction stage to course completion, through their trainer or RTO staff.
    Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia is committed to providing clients requiring additional support, advice or assistance while training. To achieve this and to ensure the quality delivery of training and education, the RTO provides client vocational counselling to improve and extend training outcomes. Students are advised to make an appointment with their trainer in the first instance, if required the student can then schedule an appointment with the RTO for further counselling and/or assistance.

    10. Legislative and Regulatory Requirements
    All students will undergo an induction with the RTO, which will include the student’s rights and responsibilities against the relevant Commonwealth, State or Territory legislation and regulatory requirements.

    11. Privacy Protection
    Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia respects the importance of securing any form of personal information which is collected from the student(s) and/or other Stakeholders. Information collected from students is only utilised for the purpose gathering information on the student as part of their enrolment, training, assessment and certification process. All data is kept securely within either a locked filing cabinet or filed electronically within a password protected database. Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia has an obligation under Commonwealth and State legislation to provide information to certain government departments for the purpose of reporting data to the government. On occasion, the government regulatory body will require access to student records for the purpose of auditing the RTO against the Standards for RTO’s. No student files will be removed from the RTO’s site, unless a student is notified beforehand.

  • SECTION 5: STUDENT DECLARATION

    Please read through all the items in this declaration and then sign and date below it.
    1. I declare that the information contained in this Enrolment Agreement Form is true and correct.
    2. I confirm that I have read, understood and consent to the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment and the Fee Payment and Refund Procedures
    3. I acknowledge and agree with the terms and conditions of enrolment with specific reference to the RTO’s enrolment and selection
    4. I consent to Chiton Pty Ltd T/as Professional and Technical Training Australia providing my information to Australian Commonwealth and State Governments for the purpose of reporting to the Government as part of my enrolment.
    5. I understand that I may be required to pay a deposit with this Enrolment Agreement Form and that the deposit is non-refundable.
    6. By signing this document, I give permission for the RTO to access my Unique Student Identifier for the purpose of my training.
    7. I understand that my rights and responsibilities as a student are outlined in the PATTA Student Handbook where I can access  further information on USI, LLN Assessment, Complaints and Appeals, WHS, Support Services and other legislative and regulatory policies and procedures.

  • SECTION 6: PARTICIPANT ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

    By signing this section you understand that Wild Education Tasmania is a partner of the RTO: Chiton Pty Ltd trading as PATTA (RTO Code: 30270), and all the items (1-9) listed below pertain to both entities. 
    1. I am fully aware that my participation in any Wild Education Tasmania training activity may include travelling in remote/semi-remote areas, exposure to Tasmanian weather, white-water, rafts, kayaks, mountain bikes, mountain bike trails, ocean conditions, slippery & rocky terrain, exposure to heights, cliff edges, loose rocks, moving ropes, and hiking/paddling/riding long distances to reach the next campsite.
    2. I understand that I may be involved in one or more of the following activities; first aid training, bushwalking, flat-water kayaking, white-water kayaking, sea kayaking, mountain biking, rafting, abseiling, climbing.
    3. Furthermore I understand that certain risks and dangers exist in these activities. These risks include, but are not limited to, loss or damage to personal property, serious injury or fatality, inclement weather, slipping, falling, unstable and loose rock, insect bite, cold exposure, or suffering any type of illness or injury in remote/semi-remote areas without immediate access to medical facilities.
    4. I acknowledge that while Wild Education Tasmania and its staff will make every reasonable effort to minimise exposure to known risks, not all dangers (hazards) associated with these activities can be foreseen. I accept the fact that while the Wild Education Tasmania staff are qualified and experienced, they cannot guarantee my total safety since some risks are beyond their control.
    5. I have a personal duty and responsibility to learn and to follow safety guidelines and procedures established by the instructor/s and I undertake to inform them at any point during the activity should I not understand what is expected of me or should I not wish to continue. I am aware that if I choose not to participate in the activity for any reason whatsoever I must inform the leader to withdraw me at the first available opportunity. I understand that if this happens at a time or position where specialised transport is required then this will be at an additional cost to me (or my parent/guardian).
    6. I am sufficiently fit to participate in this program. I have completed a medical form that is accurate, complete and true to the best of my knowledge. I agree to notify Wild Education Tasmania staff of any changes to my health and fitness which may occur before or during the program.
      Should I become ill or injured, I give my consent to the Wild Education Tasmania staff to provide or arrange for provision of medical treatment or rescue services as they see fit.
    7. I acknowledge and agree that I am undertaking this training freely, voluntarily and absolutely at my own risk. I fully appreciate the nature and extent of the risks involved in the training that I am engaging in.
    8. I acknowledge that Wild Education Tasmania is supplying me with training that is related to recreational services. (“Recreational services” means
      services that consist of participation in an activity that involves a significant degree of physical exertion or physical risk; and is undertaken for the
      purposes of recreation, enjoyment or leisure.)
    9. I release Professional Explorers Pty Ltd as the trustee for the Red Hot Go Unit Trust (trading as ‘Wild Education Tasmania’) and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives from all cost, liability, loss or damage incurred or suffered by me directly or indirectly during the course of the tour and resulting from my personal injury, illness or death or damage to or loss of my property unless caused by the wilful negligence or wrongful act of Wild Education Tasmania and its employees.

  • SECTION 7: PHOTO AND VIDEO CONSENT

    1. I authorise Wild Education Tasmania to use any photographs, video or film taken of myself during the training course and related activities. I understand there will be no compensation to me.
    2. I understand that the images, video or film may appear in print, electronic, or video media, and may be available to a global audience through the internet and/or social media.
    3. I acknowledge that ownership of the photographs, video or film will be retained by Wild Education Tasmania.

  • SECTION 8: MEDICAL INFORMATION FORM

  • The following information is used by Wild Education Tasmania to better uphold and manage the safety of students across the many courses we run. It also assists us in making adjustments to individual training needs where possible. You may feel that some of the questions asked of you are not relevant to the course you are enrolling in. If that is the case, you do not have to provide information you are not comfortable sharing. The only compulsory parts of this form are:

    • we assure you that your personal & medical information is only used in relation to the course you are enrolling in and will only ever be shared with WET staff on the course and Emergency Services when applicable.
    • if you do not disclose an ailment, injury, illness or condition and it presents itself throughout a training course we cannot be held responsible and it may inhibit effective treatment.
