    2026-2027
  • For further reading, the full Program of Studies is available here: Signature School Program of Studies

  • Next, you'll begin selecting courses (and some alternates) for each group.

  • Course Requests, IB Diploma and Indiana Academic Honors Diploma

  • There are 8 periods in the regular school day. You are pre-enrolled in TOK, and you will need to take your next English and next world language courses, and, if you have not already taken them, the semester-long AP Government course and one of the two semester-long AP Economics courses.

You must ensure that by the end of your senior year, you will have taken 3 (or 4) IB exams at the HL level and 3 (or 2) IB exams at the SL level. Five of these IB exams must be from Groups 1-5. The sixth IB exam may be from any group but Group 5, mathematics. Only one Group 5 course counts towards the diploma. Complete the table below to show that you are on track to fulfill IB DP course requirements.

IB Psych SL and IB History SL are one-year courses, IB ESS has a prerequisite, and IB History HL is a two-year course.

AP European History is a great senior-year elective that looks good on a transcript, but juniors will be given priority seating.

Early Adopters of the New Indiana Diploma with Honors Plus Seal must take the one-semester online Finanical Literacy course as a Summer class or a Fall class.

  • Required: Group 4 Experimental Sciences

    • You must complete at least one SL or HL in this group.

    • IB Physics SL/AP Physics 2 and IB ESS both have pre-requisites. See below.
    • AP Computer Science A, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics 1, and AP Chemistry are excellent senior-year electives, but juniors taking these courses as the first-year of an IB two-year sequence will be given priority seating.
    • AP Environmental Science is a pre-requisite for IB ESS, a year-long course that satisfies both Group 3 and Group 4 IB diploma requirements.
    • AP Physics 1 requires a strong math background. Algebra 2/Trig is the recommended co-requisite. This course is a pre-requisite for IB Phys SL/AP Physics 2.
    • Early Adopters of the New Indiana Diploma with Honors Plus Seal must take the one-semester Computing Foundations for a Digital Age (CS 4565) if they will not have completed AP CS A by the end of their senior year. This online class must be well underway by the start of senior year.

  • Group 6 The Arts

You may take one or more courses.

You may take an IB Group 6 for your 6th IB Diploma subject, but you don’t have to. Group 6 electives that do not fulfill IB Diploma requirements are great sources for CAS hours.

      • Orchestra is on A days.
      • Band is on B days.
    • Musical Theatre occurs Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:00.

  • Repeated Courses

If you have to repeat a course because you earned a D or F, we will re-enroll you in that course provided that repeating the class does not delay your graduation. In this case, we will not be able to honor the PS registrations you indicate above. Please answer the question below.
  • Silent Study Requests, Additional Courses, Comments

  • Silent Study Requests

You may elect to take a Silent Study for fall, spring, or both semesters. When making this decision, consider:

Silent Study is meant for students able to work independently and silently on academic requirements. Silent Study students must check in with their supervising teachers at the start of each period for attendance. We will find alternative course placement for students who register for Silent Study but who prove unable to meet behavioral expectations.

If you wish to take a Silent Study, choose Fall Semester, Spring Semester, or both below. We will then have you type your name to indicate that you understand the expectations of Silent Study students.

  • Two-Year IB Course Plan

  • Please confirm that your course requests complete the required two-year IB course plan by completing the below chart with the courses you're completing your junior year along with the courses you've requested for your senior year. Remember:

    • You must take AP U.S. Government and Politics (a 1 semester course) AND a semester of economics (AP Macroeconomics or AP Microeconomics) to graduate.
    • You must schedule a total of 3 IB HL courses and 3 IB SL courses over the two years. Five of these IB classes must be chosen from Groups 1-5; the 6th IB class cannot come from Group 5.
    • If you received a D or F in any course required for the Indiana Academic Honors Diploma, you will need to retake the class and should note it on the schedule, below.
    • Early Adopters of the New Indiana Diploma with Honors Plus Seal must ensure their schedule reflects the 2 addtional required courses: AP Computer Science A OR Computing Foundations for a Digital Age AND Financial Literacy.
