Q: When does your season open?

      We operate from mid-March - mid-September annually.

Q: How old does my child need to be to participate in Survival Swim lessons?

We offer lessons for students as young as 6 months old and have no age cap (we teach adults too).

Q: How long is each lesson?

The structure for Survival Swim classes are 4 private lessons a week for 6 weeks initially. Each session is 15 minutes long. This allows us to teach developmentally appropriate skills within a time limit that allows for a child's mental and physical retention without fatigue.

Adaptative Aquatic lessons are held for 30 minutes twice a week.

Q: What can my child possibly learn during a total of 6 hours’ worth of lessons? (24, 15-minute lessons)

For an infant, survival swimming is a baby’s ability to rise to the surface, roll into an unassisted float and breathe regardless of the water’s depth, for an indefinite period of time.

For a toddler or young child, survival swimming is the child’s ability to kick and propel through the water – roll on to his/her back to breathe – turn and swim repeatedly to the wall, steps or egress, and get out of the pool.

Q: What kind of training do your instructors have?

✅ Certified Survival Swim Instructors, through the Survival Swim Development Network

      Q: Is your pool heated?

Typically, the water is warmed by the Central Texas heat. During off-peak season months we do run the heater (March, early April and late September).

Q: Is your pool chlorinated and maintenanced?

Yes, our pool is regularly maintenanced and treated with chlorine.
