  • What is terumah? Terumah (pronounced true-mah) is a shared commitment to supporting our congregation now, and for future generations. With your participation, we will sustain a vibrant and supportive Jewish community. We also need your knowledge, experience and involvement in fulfilling a kehilla kedosha – a sacred community. Your level of terumah is determined by the following membership categories.

  • A portion of your terumah goes to support the Union for Reform Judaism. Your annual commitment does not include the following: Capital Improvements Fund pledge, Religious School and Pre School fees, and Bar/Bat Mitzvah expenses.

    • Terumah Calculation
    • What is the Honor Society? Since the requested standard terumah covers only a portion of Temple Emanuel's expenses, it is through additional financial gifts that we are able to meet our financial obligations. Because of our Honor Society, Temple Emanuel is able to take pride in never turning an adult away from membership or a child away from a Jewish education due to financial hardship or an inability to meet the standard terumah. Your contribution is key to making us a caring and inclusive community.
