Luv Your Petz Key Policy 🔑

We require a key lockbox, even if you have electronic entry (like a garage keypad or smart lock). Technology can fail, but a secure lockbox ensures we always have reliable access to your pets when they need us.

Why Lockboxes?

Safety: Your keys stay secured on your property.
Convenience: No need for us to pick up, drop off, or exchange keys between sitters.
Peace of Mind: If one sitter can’t make a visit, another trusted Luv Your Petz sitter can step in without delays.
It’s truly a WIN-WIN!

How It Works

Installation:
Choose a secure spot approved by you and Luv Your Petz. We like mounted boxes the best. A great place to install them is on your garage door frame under the garage door keypad or on the back of a post on the front porch.
The lockbox must be easy to reach — we won’t access boxes hidden under decks, behind bushes, or in hard-to-reach places.
The code you choose should be unique and not easily guessed.

Daily Use:
Your sitter retrieves the key from the lockbox at the start of each visit and returns it when finished.
The lockbox is always locked securely before leaving.

Security:
Your code is kept strictly confidential and only shared with authorized Luv Your Petz staff.
If there’s ever a concern about unauthorized access, reset the code right away and change the code in your portal.

What If Something Happens?

If a lockbox or key is lost, it must be reported to Luv Your Petz immediately.
If the loss is due to sitter error, we will replace the lockbox or key at no cost to you.

Key & Box Requirements:

If we currently hold your keys, we’ll place them directly into your new lockbox.
We require two copies of your house key inside the lockbox.
This ensures that if your scheduled sitter can’t make a visit and has accidentally taken the key off the property, a backup sitter can step in right away without leaving your pets waiting.
