  • **Please note: You must have your own reliable vehicle and a deep love for dogs!!  Must also be able to self-manage and must be comfortable walking in inclement weather.**

    • The leadership team will schedule services for you within your availability and work preferences. The details you need for each job will be provided through our pet portal.

    • Our leadership team will schedule a mutually agreeable time for you to meet client and pet(s) for an initial meet and greet. You will be accompanied by one of our team members for the first few initial meet and greets then you will often go on solo meet and greets. Please take notes in a notebook designated for pet notes or input them in the pet portal in real time. Inputting them in real time helps share the information with the rest of the team.

    • If you need to make additional "practice" visits before starting with a particular client (shy dog or other reasons), you will be compensated for additional visits.

    • If you want to walk multiple dogs or if you want to take dogs to a trail or dog park, your car must be ‘dog-friendly.’  Please be aware that dogs may shed in your car and/or may track mud in during inclement weather. A heavy blanket and towels will help protect your car.

    • If dogs get dirty on a hike or walk, please hose them off and/or towel dry them (owners will provide towels and it’s a good idea to keep one in your car) before putting them back in the house. The owner will thank you!

    • A time frame will be given to you by pet owners in which to walk the dog(s). This usually is a 2 hour window during mid-day hours (11am-2pm is the usual time frame for regular weekday walks, hiking time may vary).

    • At the initial client meet and greet, you will be given a key to the client's home or shown where the key is securely hidden.  It is your responsibility to keep keys secure.  Please put the key in your pocket as soon as you get in the house, so you don’t leave it inside and lock yourself out.

    • Occasionally, clients may be home sick or taking a day off at home; please be aware that even if you don’t see the client, the client may be home.

    • Even if you are walking a very friendly dog (and most of them are), remember that some of the dogs you will see on the walk are NOT friendly. Keep the dog you are walking away from other dogs until you are certain the dog you see is friendly.

    • Most walks you will be walking one or two dogs at a time. If you want to walk more, we can work you up to three dogs at a time. We do not walk more than three dogs at one time.

    • All dogs must be leashed during the walk unless clients have specifically requested off-leash (and signed the waiver) and verify that their dog responds to voice recall commands.
  • The pay schedule is as follows:

Starting at $15 per 30 minute walk

    $24 per 1hr walk

$29 per 1 hr hike ($6 for each additional dog)

$40 per 2 hr hike.  ($6 for each additional dog)

Please sign the auto liability release form below for dog walking:

I have a car that is ‘dog-friendly.’ I agree not to hold Auntie M Pet Care LLC and/or clients liable for any damage should any damage occur to my car while transporting dogs while under the contract of Auntie M Pet Care LLC.

    • You will be accompanied by one of our team members for the first few initial meet and greets then you will often go on solo meet and greets.  Please take notes in your own notebook designated for pet notes or input them in the pet portal in real time.

    • We ask that you send an update to your client through the Pet Portal after you’ve met the client at the initial meet and greet and each service.
House duties: Most overnights require some plant care. Please be sure to water plants as the client requests. You are not required to clean the house, but we ask that you clean up after yourself and leave it looking the way you found it. Sheets will be clean and on the bed for you. Please wash them and put clean sheets back on the bed before you leave.  You will be provided with a checklist of standard professional pet sitting duties to use as a guide.

    • You are only required to stay at the client's house for the allotted time they schedule.  Overnight stays are typically 7am-7pm.  We also offer 13, 14, and 15hr extended overnight stays.  Most clients request an additional midday visit or two while they are out of town.

    • Please do not use client's computer for any reason even if they grant permission. You are welcome to bring your own computer and discuss with client how to connect your computer to the Internet during your stay.

    • Our company policy does not allow anyone else to enter the client’s home without the client’s permission during your stay there. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please discuss with the leadership team.
  • Pay schedule is as follows:

$60/per night (7pm-7am or 8pm-8am) for 12hr overnight stays(rate increases with additional pets past 3 and extended overnights)

***Due to the nature of house sitting and the bonding that occurs between sitter and animal(s) (and owner with sitter), we have an expectation that you commit to working with us for 1 year.  We would of course love it if you stayed longer.

You will be classified as an independent contractor of Auntie M Pet Care LLC.  Therefore, we will not withhold taxes from your paycheck but will supply a Form 1099 at the end of the year (providing you earn more than $600 in one year). Pet sitters and dog walkers are paid on approximately the 15th and 30th of each month.

    • Visit lengths typically 30minutes and can range from 30min-3hrs, depending on the needs of the client and their pets.

    • The time will be spent during services include walking the dog(s), feeding the animal(s) cleaning up any messes you (or they) have made (counter and spoons cleaned), scooping the litter box daily, mail and paper pickup, and any light watering for indoor/outdoor plants. If you have time left over in your service, please keep the pet engaged and keep them company for the remainder.

    • Pet sitting visits are usually done at approximately the same time each day to maintain continuity for the pets. Most cat visits are once or twice per day.  Dog visits are usually 2-4 times per day.  These times are scheduled based on the client's preferred timeframe.

    • Clients store keys on their property. If you need to use a client's key, always put it back in the hiding spot when it's not in use for safe keeping. This is an important step in not locking yourself out.

    • Please also respect client confidentiality. Do not bring your friends or children to the house or tell anyone that a particular client is away.

    • Due to the bonding that occurs between sitter and animal(s) we expect a 1 year commitment to work with us. Please let us know if you have any questions about this or are unable to commit to us for the next 1 year.

Most pet sit "assignments" are 2 days to 2 weeks or more, and some may include weekends. We prefer hiring pet sitters that are available for both.

    $15 per 30 minute visit
