2026 Shiai – Participant Release & Indemnity Agreement
1. Purpose of Participation
I acknowledge that my participation in the 2026 Shiai is for the practice and development of martial arts skills. I understand that martial arts training involves dynamic, high‑intensity physical activity, including but not limited to punching, kicking, striking, and grappling, performed individually and with partners.
2. Awareness of Risks
I understand and accept that martial arts activities carry inherent risks. These risks include the possibility of serious injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death. Such risks may arise from my actions, the actions of others, or the conditions of the training or competition environment. I also acknowledge that additional risks—social, economic, or otherwise—may exist that are not currently known or reasonably foreseeable.
3. Assumption of Responsibility
I voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks associated with my participation. This includes any losses, costs, or damages that may occur. I agree to monitor my physical condition and activity level at all times. If I believe any activity is unsafe, I will immediately discontinue participation.
4. Release & Hold Harmless
I hereby release, discharge, and agree not to sue the organizers of the 2026 Shiai, including administrators, members, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, employees, and fellow participants. I also release the owners and lessors of the premises where the event is held from any liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages connected to my participation.
5. Health & Conduct Requirements
I affirm that I (or my child) am in appropriate physical condition to participate in this martial arts tournament. I understand that the organizers may deny admission or remove any participant whose behavior is disruptive or deemed counterproductive to the goals and spirit of the 2026 Shiai.
6. Media Consent
I grant permission for photos or videos of me, taken during the event as a competitor, student, or observer, to be used for publicity or promotional purposes. This includes publication or broadcast on television, online platforms, or other media by ShotoCup. I waive any right to compensation for such use.
7. Acknowledgment & Agreement
By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to all terms outlined in this Release & Indemnity Agreement.
