Kora’s Rescue Ranch — Foster Care Policies & Safety Agreement

By agreeing to foster for Kora’s Rescue Ranch (KRR), the foster acknowledges and agrees to the following policies:

    1. Ownership & Custody

All animals in the care of Kora’s Rescue Ranch remain the sole legal property of Kora’s Rescue Ranch at all times.

The foster may not transfer, rehome, give away, sell, or promise the animal to any individual or organization without written approval from Kora’s Rescue Ranch. The foster animal may not be left in the care of another person, boarded, or transported without prior approval from Kora’s Rescue Ranch.

Kora’s Rescue Ranch reserves the right to remove the foster animal from the foster home at any time and for any reason deemed necessary for the animal’s welfare. The foster agrees to promptly return the animal upon request.

    2. Veterinary Care & Expenses

Fosters agree to follow all Kora’s Rescue Ranch animal care protocols and administer medications, treatments, and follow-up care as directed.

Kora’s Rescue Ranch may provide food, supplies, and approved veterinary care for the foster animal. Non-emergency veterinary treatment must be pre-approved by Kora’s Rescue Ranch whenever possible. Emergency veterinary care must be reported immediately.

Expenses incurred without prior authorization may not be eligible for reimbursement. Receipts must be submitted for reimbursement consideration.

The foster may not authorize euthanasia, surrender the animal to a veterinary clinic or shelter, or approve major medical procedures without prior approval from Kora’s Rescue Ranch, except in a life-threatening emergency.

    3. Safety & Handling Requirements

For the safety of the foster animal and the public, the foster animal will not be taken to dog parks, off-leash areas, pet daycare, or public gatherings where uncontrolled animal interactions may occur.

The foster animal must remain leashed and under adult supervision at all times when outside a securely fenced yard.

The foster animal may not interact with unfamiliar animals without prior approval from Kora’s Rescue Ranch.

    4. Bite / Safety Incident Policy

In the event the foster animal bites, scratches, injures a person or animal, escapes, or is involved in any safety incident, the foster must notify Kora’s Rescue Ranch immediately (within 1 hour if possible) and cooperate fully with all instructions provided.

The foster agrees to comply with all local and state animal control and quarantine requirements and will not relocate, surrender, euthanize, or transfer the animal to any person, veterinarian, shelter, or agency without authorization from Kora’s Rescue Ranch.

Failure to report a bite or safety incident may result in immediate removal of the animal from foster care and termination of foster privileges.

    5. Acknowledgment

Failure to follow these policies may result in removal of the animal and discontinuation of foster privileges. These policies are in place to protect the foster, the public, the animal, and Kora’s Rescue Ranch.
