1. Adoption Fee: Adopter agreed to pay the nonrefundable adoption fee.
2. Initial Veterinary Exam: Adopter will take the animal to a veterinarian within 30 days of the date of adoption for a general physical examination at the adopter's own expense. If the veterinary appointment is not able to be made within 30 days of adoption, adopter will need to notify a member of Kora's Rescue Ranch.
3. Compliance With Laws: Adopter will abide by the animal control laws of the state and county of adopter's residence.
4. Post-Adoption Care by Adopter: Adopter will provide the animal with appropriate, prompt and humane care. At a minimum, the adopter will do the following:
a.) Keep the animal current on all vaccinations for the balance of the animal's life.
b.) Have the animal examined by a veterinarian at least one per year.
c.) Treat the animal with flea/tick control medication from May-October of each year and administer heartworm preventation year round in a dosage appropriate for the animal's weight.
d.) Provide the animal with adequate food and water.
e.) Ensure that the animal lives primarily inside and never tie or chain the animal outside.
f.) Pay all expenses reasonably necessary to sustain a positive quality of life for the animal.
5. Spay/Neuter Surgery: If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered due to age, the adopter is in agreement that that they will have the animal spayed/neutered within one year of adoption and submit proof of documentation to Kora’s Rescue Ranch. This is non-negotiable and a spay/neuter certificate with our vet partner can be provided if needed. Please discuss with a member of Kora's Rescue Ranch for further information.
If the animal is not already spayed/neutered and is an adult, you are in agreement that you will arrange a spay/neuter appointment with a member of Kora’s Rescue Ranch prior to completing the adoption process and are responsible for taking your pet to that scheduled appointment.
6. Returns: Should behavioral issues arise with the animal, the adopter agrees to exhaust all options prior to returning the animal. This includes, but is not limited to, hiring a trainer to remedy the behavior or concern.
If the adopter is ever dissatisfied with the animal or no longer wishes to own the animal, the adopter must contact Kora's Rescue Ranch immediately. If Kora's Rescue Ranch is unable to accept the return, adopter must work in conjunction with Kora's Rescue Ranch to determine a suitable alternative.
7. No Transfers Without Kora's Rescue Ranch Consent: Adopter will not advertise the animal for adoption or sale without consent from Kora's Rescue Ranch. Adopter will not give, sell, transfer or surrender the animal to any individual or organization without the written and documented consent of Kora's Rescue Ranch.
8. No warranties. The adopter accepts the animal as is, where is. Adopter understands and agrees that Kora's Rescue Ranch has made no express warranty, representation or promise of any kind with respect to the animal. Kora's Rescue Ranch disclaims all implied warranties of any kind.
9. Post-Adoption Responsibility: Adopter agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Kora's Rescue Ranch from all claims and causes of action with respect to the animal that arise on or after the date of this adoption agreement.
10. Severability: If any part of this adoption agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this adoption agreement will continue to be valid and enforceable.
