International Application: Project COMMON BOND - Summer 2023

Thursday, June 22nd - Thursday, June 29th | Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania
Project COMMON BOND, a program of Tuesday’s Children, brings together an international community of young people, ages 15-22 from all over the world who have each experienced direct trauma or loss due to terrorism, military conflict or mass violence. This 8 day program is looking for enthusiastic participants to join their peers in a supportive, compassionate environment that engages in activities and conversations that empower them to build skills in leadership and peacebuilding among this culturally diverse group.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Applications must be completed by June 2, 2023.

Once your application has been approved, you will be notified and sent an additional packet of required paperwork.

Please note that if you are accepted into Project COMMON BOND and choose to attend, following program completion, Tuesday's Children sends an anonymous, voluntary survey to program participants to collect feedback about your experience to improve our future programming. More information about this survey is included in the participation waivers in the welcome packet that gets sent to accepted participants. Thank you for your interest in Project COMMON BOND.

PARENT/GUARDIAN QUESTIONS
As a parent of your young adult, you know them better than anyone else. In our experience, we have found it to be most helpful to get your observations of your young adult. Please note, even for those who are returning participants, this is important for a parent to fill out as young people are constantly evolving and changing. Naturally everyone wants to represent their young adult in the best possible light, and we want to hear your praise, but we are also interested in any areas of challenge or difficulty.

Your unique view of your young adult will help us to support them in their participation in Project COMMON BOND. We would be most grateful for your input on the following questions.
1. What are the qualities that best describe your young adult's personality?*
2. How does your young adult participate within a group? We understand that all of us are on a continuum of introverted/extroverted. It is helpful for us to know more about where your young adult is most comfortable.*
3. How would you describe your young adult's strengths?*
4. What are your young adult's areas of vulnerability? For example: Is it hard for your young adult to initiate with others; does your young adult shy away from new challenges; what does your young adult do when conflict arises? These are just possible categories.*
5. Have there been any recent changes, transitions, within your family that we should be aware of?*
6. Has your family experienced any subsequent cumulative loss? This can be including, but not limited to, a divorce, a move, the passing of a family member, or the passing of a beloved pet.*
7. Anything additional that would be useful for us to know about your young adult, so that we can provide support throughout the week?*
