Frederick County employers continue to struggle to meet the changing demands of employees and recruits following the pandemic. This workshop is designed to equip small businesses to build leaders from within through effective training, retention, succession planning, and outreach strategies.
About the Business Education Series: FCWS's Business Education Series gives Frederick County businesses an opportunity to learn the latest results-oriented workforce development techniques to expand their workforce and drive their company forward after facing the hardships of the pandemic. These free educational workshops are geared toward business leaders, human resources professionals, and those small business employees who find themselves as the designated HR rep!
Designed in conjunction with community partners, these workshops give high-level, value-added professional training that allow businesses to tap into resources to help them recruit, retain, and develop their workforce.
These workshops are free for all Frederick County businesses negatively impacted by the pandemic.

About the Trainers: Bethany Lord is a leader in the human resources field. Most recently as the SVP, Chief Human Resources and Culture Officer at Woodsboro Bank, she developed a company culture where high performance, innovation, engagement, and teamwork were routine. She has been in HR for 16 years and currently holds both the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designations. Bethany is a graduate of Frostburg State University where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in HR, the “business that deals with people”. She is currently enrolled in a master’s program at Liberty University where she is working towards her Master’s in Industrial Organizational Psychology.
She works with companies and individuals to develop knowledge and skills in the business areas that work with people. Her areas of expertise include developing high functioning teams and emerging leaders, executive coaching, HR policies and procedures, and innovative people management techniques
