By Design 23: Designing the Future: Solarpunk Worldbuilding

In conjunction with the 2023 By Design Festival, the NWFF is hosting a Solarpunk Worldbuilding workshop lead by River Vicco Naylor.

Date: Saturday, Mar. 18 from 11am–4pm

Age: 11-14

Rome wasn’t built in a day… but this town will be! Inspired by the Solarpunk movement and science fiction world-building, participants will work together to design and build a futuristic neighborhood out of cardboard, paper, and clay. The only two requirements for this new neighborhood is that the community lives well with each other and the land! What kind of future can you imagine?

This workshop will teach students how to conceptualize a fantastic world and build a miniature set. Very useful skills for writers and set designers alike!
