Here is an explanation of the markings we see in Cockapoos. In different breeds these are sometimes called different names so I like to review them real quick just to make sure we're on the same page.
Solid Colors
Solid colored Cockapoos are one color all over. They have little to no white. The puppies above are considered Solid Red on the Left and Solid Cream on the Right. The solids we typically have are Reds and Apricots. Occasionally we can have Black, Chocolate, or Merle solids.
Parti Color (Spotted)
Parti Cockapoos are white with spots of color. The amount of spotting can be minimal or they could be mostly colored. In general, the Parti puppies that we have available are typically Chocolate Partis, but a couple of the girls can have Merle Partis, Black Partis, and Sable Partis.
Abstract (Puppachinos)
Abstract Cockapoos are mostly solid color but with white on their feet, face, chest, and tail tip. We affectionately call them Puppachinos as it looks like their faces were dipped in whipped cream. You never know if you're going to get an Abstract puppy in a litter!
Tan Markings
Tan Markings can be seen on most of our Chocolate, Black, or Merle puppies. These puppies have a tan color on their eyebrows, muzzle, and feet. It can fade as they grow up, in some adults you can't see them after they're a year old. If a puppy has very bright Tan Markings then they can stay visible for their whole life. If a Parti-colored Cockapoo has Tan Markings they're called Tricolor.
