Family Faith Formation - Circle of Grace
Circle of Grace is a diocesan mandated program that teaches children about healthy boundaries and appropriate relationships. The curriculum designed by the Archdiocese of Omaha focuses on our Catholic understanding of the dignity of each person. The Catholic Church teaches that God has created each of us as unique and special. Genesis 1:27 tells us that we are created "male and female in God's image" and that God saw this as "very good." In that goodness, we respect ourselves and everyone else as persons created and loved by God.
God intends our relationships in life to be experiences of divine love. He wants us to have healthy relationships; those that are respectful, nurturing and loving so that we might increase our understanding of our own value and help us to love others. It is never too early to help young people understand how very special they are and how relationships in life are sacred. The goal of the Circle of Grace program is to educate and empower young people so they may actively participate in a safe environment for themselves and others.
The Circle of Grace curriculum is compliant with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People implemented by the United State Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB Our diocese is required, through an audit process, to verify to the USCCB that we offered this training. We are also required to track individual participation. As a registered participant in the Annunciation Catholic Church Family Catechesis, you have the choice of completing the Circle of Grace program with your child or you may wish to opt-out.
