Australian Junior Volleyball Championships

The Championships comprises Under 19 and Under 23 age groups and will be held;

• 6-9 July 2023 (this includes the likely travel days)
• @ Sydney Olympic Park

The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships combining the U19 & U23 age groups is a relatively new event on the national volleyball calendar, first offered in 2021, the championships could not proceed due to the COVID pandemic.

Volleyball Queensland is seeking an application from experienced (representative team level) and qualified (minimum VA Level 2) coaches to lead and assist Queensland representative teams in the U19 & U23 age groups.

Team coaches will be required in the April to July period to:

1. Contribute to identification of invitees to trial for selection by attending VQ competitions
2. Conduct Trials as required
3. Conduct Trainings as scheduled
4. Coach and supervise the team at the Championships

The coaching application period will close 4:00pm Friday 10 March 2023.

Volleyball Queensland anticipates there will be sufficient interest and standard of players to enter two teams (Maroon & Development) in each of the U19 & U23 female and male competitions.

Final coach selections will be conducted by the Volleyball Queensland State Team Program Committee and recommended to the Volleyball Queensland Board for approval.

Australian Youth Volleyball Championships

The Championships comprises Under 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 age groups and will be held;

• 16-23 September 2023 (this includes the likely travel days)
• @ Bendigo, Victoria

The Australian Youth Volleyball Championships previously known as AJVC will go ahead for it's second year in Bendigo in 2023.

Volleyball Queensland is seeking an application from experienced (representative team level) and qualified (minimum VA Level 2) coaches to lead and assist Queensland representative teams in the U19 & U23 age groups.

Team coaches will be required in the June to September period to:

1. Contribute to identification of invitees to trial for selection by attending VQ competitions

APPLICANT DETAILS

All Volleyball Queensland State Team Coaches are required to hold and maintain over the program their Volleyball Queensland membership.

All State Team Coaches are required to hold a valid Blue Card linked to Volleyball Queensland before taking court with athletes under 18 years of age.

Coaching Preference

You must advise what role (Head Coach, Assistant Coach) you would like to play and in which program female or male, under 14-18 or under u19 and 23, knowing this may be different to that offered by VQ in structuring the overall experience for the teams and players.

• if applying for more than one program or role, prioritise your choice in your supporting Volleyball Coaching Statement.
• if you are a parent of a player trialling for a position, you will not be assigned to that age & gender, or involved in selections of that age & gender.
• You must select one tournament only, eg Australian Youth Championships or Australian JUnior Championships

Volleyball Coaching Statement

• your recent team coaching activity in 2021, 2022 & 2023.
• your representative team coaching history.
• your philosphy in preparing a junior elite team to compete in the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships or preparing a youth elite team to compete in Australian Youth Volleyball Championships.
• if applying for more than one age group in the same program, prioritise your choices.
• an indication of coaches you may wish to 'work with' in this program.
