The Educational Technician (Ed Tech) Program at Washington County Community College is designed to provide relevant coursework that supports advancement toward Ed Tech II or III certification through the Maine Department of Education. Please note that completion of this program alone does not grant Ed Tech certification. Rather, it offers a pathway to help you earn the necessary credits to apply for a higher certification level.
The program is structured into five modules, each consisting of two online/asynchronous, accelerated 8-week courses—for a total of ten courses. You are not required to repeat any courses you have already completed or take courses that do not align with your goals. The overall objective is to equip you with the academic foundation needed to advance to the next Ed Tech level.
Additionally, we encourage all participants to consider pairing this training with an apprenticeship opportunity, if not already in place. Our team is available to help coordinate this option.
