FUNDING OPPORTUNITY
Freedom House is seeking to support initiatives that foster dialogue among justice sector stakeholders, promote access to justice, and strengthen civic oversight in Moldova. Justice sector reform is a society-wide effort, and civil society plays a critical role as an effective advocate and partner for inclusive and accountable justice. Freedom House will provide grants of up to $10,000 to two civic initiates aimed at building public pressure for justice sector accountability and transparency. The selection committee will give preference to initiatives that support the interests of marginalized or vulnerable communities and/or demonstrate coordination with other civil society actors.
EVALUATION CRITERIA
- Feasibility – does the applicant clearly demonstrate the capacity to implement proposed activities?
- Engagement – is direct engagement with decision-makers and citizens from diverse backgrounds a central component of the proposal?
- Publicity – does the proposal involve a publicity component and society-wide advocacy?
ELIGIBILITY
Non-profit organizations, initiatives, and groups active in the Republic of Moldova are eligible for participation in this program. Individuals, government, or quasi-government bodies are not eligible for funding.
AWARD INFORMATION
Selection decisions will be made by March 27, 2023. Proposals may cost up to $10,000. Selected organizations will receive up to 12 months of financial assistance beginning in early April 2023, and will work closely with and report to Freedom House staff on funded activities for the duration of the grant period.
