Purpose and EligibilityRASOF is offering up to two $500 merit-based scholarships to students currently enrolled in the Roseville Area High School orchestra program. The scholarship is payable toward the cost of tuition for a music education or enrichment program during summer or fall of this calendar year. Eligible programs include summer music camps, orchestra tours, youth orchestra/ensemble tuition, and college tuition for graduating seniors intending to continue their music education and performance opportunities in college or conservatory. Private music lessons alone do not qualify as a program for these scholarships.
RequirementsApplicants must be currently attending Roseville Area High School, grade 9-12, and a member of one or more RAHS orchestra ensembles. Scholarship funds are payable to the organization sponsoring or collecting payments for the musical education or enrichment activity described in the student’s application. CriteriaA qualifying candidate for a scholarship meets the following criteria:
Application ProcedureApplications must be filled out completely and submitted using this online form no later than 11:59pm on the date of the deadline. Applications will be evaluated by a retired Roseville music educator(s) or music educator(s) from another school district with no immediate family or other close relationship to applicants. Applicants will be notified of results by email by the end of the week following the deadline. If awarded a scholarship, applicants must ACCEPT the scholarship by replying to the emailed award notification and, if under age 18, RASOF must receive the written consent of applicant's parent or guardian. The applicant and parent or guardian are expected to cooperate in providing RASOF appropriate and timely payee information. RASOF is not responsible for knowing or communicating to applicants any payment deadlines for college tuition or qualifying music programs.
LimitationsApplicants who, for any reason, do not participate in the program funded by RASOF scholarship and who receive a direct refund from payee after RASOF scholarship is paid, must return scholarship funds to RASOF. Scholarship funds may not be applied toward any program except the one described in this application. Scholarships offered but unused or not accepted expire on December 31 of the year in which they were offered.
