1) Our preschool follows an individualized school calendar (available through the website) and will be closed for statutory holidays, Spring Break, occasional Professional Development Days, Teacher’s Convention and Winter Holidays. Monthly tuition will remain the same.
2) If our preschool is unable to open due to extreme weather (decisions made in accordance with Rockyview School Board), or other unforeseen circumstances, there will not be any make-up days provided.
3) At the time of registration, you will be required to e-transfer a one-time, non-refundable Registration Fee of $90 to account for yearly materials, administrative fees, and HiMama transaction payments for the school year. Please send your registration deposit, via e-transfer to: smallbutmightypreschool@gmail.com
Please note: We ask that all e-transfers for registration fees kindly be sent within 3 business days of registration. Thank you in advance!
4) All children enrolled in one of our licensed preschool programs are eligible for a monthly credit of $75 from the government as part of the Childcare Affordability Grant. Parents are asked to pay their monthly tuition in-full, upfront for the months of September and October (or your child's first two months of school if beginning at a later date). After the first two months of school, a discount of $75 will appear on all forthcoming invoices for November through June. In July, you will receive a final e-transfer payment of $150 for your Childcare Affordability Grant Payments for the months of May and June.
This payment schedule allows for the preschool to reimburse parents after funds have been received by the government. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
5) Our preschool is also set up to receive subsidy for a flat amount of $125/month for families that qualify based on household income. For further information and to directly apply, please visit:
https://www.alberta.ca/child-care-subsidy.aspx
6) To withdraw a child from the program, parents must provide written notice one full month before the 1st of the month that you wish to leave. For example, if you wish to withdraw for October, notice must be provided before September 1st.
7) September Withdrawal Exception: If parents, in combination with our staff, deem that a child is not yet ready to participate in our program during the first school month of September, they will be refunded their full deposit fee.
8) When space is available, students are welcome to register at any point during the current school year. Parents will be asked to pay the registration/resources fee (which may be adjusted depending on how many months are left in the school year) along with the upcoming month's payment. The remaining monthly tuition amounts will be paid accordingly going forward.
9) Parents are asked to use the HiMama App for communication with preschool teachers, photo sharing, and invoicing. While photo sharing is optional (a consent form will be provided upon registration), we ask that parents sign up for automatic payments though the HiMama Platform. Please note that you will be provided with a HiMama invitation that links to our school closer to September.
10) When taking extended absences, such as vacations, families are asked to pay our lowest, one day a week pricing of $98/ month to hold their child's place in the program, unless determined otherwise due to subsidy. Please note that subsidy and the Childcare Affordability Grant Payments are not guaranteed during absences 3 weeks and over, however, pauses in attendace without disrupting subsidy can be requested through The Alberta Supports Contact Center.
11) We highly encourage all students to receive speech screening through our affiliated Early Childhood Services, who allow our students to gain access to funding for government provided support services. Speech screening serves as the entry point for all assessments and can lead to a child being provided with funding for important early interventions such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and PUF. There are also potential supports for English Language Learners. In some instances, students will additionally qualify for classroom support. Please note that if you decide to forgo screening and it is later determined that your child is in need of additional classroom support, we may not be able to provide the support deemed necessary for inclusion in our program. This is due to our educational philosophy and dedication to caring for the needs of all students present. Please note that a consent for screening form will be distributed closer to our screening dates.
