Summer Arts at Mason Internship Application

Mason Community Arts Academy at George Mason University seeks confident, team-oriented, and enthusiastic internship candidates for our vibrant Summer Arts at Mason programs in Fairfax, VA. The Summer Arts at Mason is a paid internship program that is designed to provide college undergraduate, graduate, and rising junior/senior high school students with an exciting opportunity to work in the arts and arts education and learn from industry professionals, while promoting safety and a positive camp culture.

Internship schedules are available weekly throughout the summer, and interns will be paid a weekly stipend. Internship hours may be applied toward degree requirements (dependent on program).

Candidates must be comfortable interfacing with the general public and available Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm during select weeks between June 19 – August 11. Programming takes place on the Mason Fairfax Campus. Interns will be assigned a weekly schedule based on availability. 

Summer Arts at Mason Internship Program – rising college sophomore undergraduate through graduate students have the option to choose one of three concentrations:

• Administration – work closely with onsite administrative staff to manage day-to-day activities, support programming needs across all focus areas, and ensure smooth camp operations.

• Education – work closely with onsite instructional faculty and administrative staff to assist in the classroom, encourage and mentor students, and assist with student supervision and classroom management.

• Marketing – work closely with administrative staff and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to assist with promotional materials, graphic design, and media content.

Summer Arts at Mason Junior Internship Program - rising college freshman undergraduate students and rising junior/senior high school students will work closely with administrative staff and instructional faculty to observe and assist with classroom activities, encourage and mentor students, and assist with day-to-day camp operations.
