Volunteers are an integral part of Get In Gear Fest by the Outdoor Gear Builders of WNC. Volunteering at the Get In Gear Fest is a fun and rewarding way to support the outdoor community and economy in our region. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 6th at a variety of times ranging from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. All positions are scheduled for 2 hours. Most positions are designed for 2 people to be together so you can recruit a friend to volunteer with you. Each Volunteer will receive a gift to show our appreciation. You will be contacted when we receive your application and we will do our best to confirm your placement and work at least 5 days prior to our event.

SETUP: Setting up tents, tables, chairs, signs and cones. Helping vendors if setup time allows.

VENDOR SUPPORT: Helping vendors unload, setup, take down/load out, watching booths to give vendor staff breaks.

TRAFFIC GUIDANCE: Giving directions, giving maps to off site parking lot or bike valet.

REGISTRATION & CHECKIN: Staffing Check In table/tent, giving information, giving map/program, counting people in, counting people out.

PARKING (VIP/Handicap): Monitoring and directing limited parking on-site.

GENERAL ON-SITE ASSISTANCE: Help monitor water front, answer participant questions, monitor trash/recycling, act as standby for capacity needs of other on-site volunteers.
